circuit breaker

Who wrote the battery relocation tech project write-up. Basically Im trying to find out what size circuit breaker was used in that car? Or anybody recommend what amperage I should use.

and 30 amps is not enough power for the entire car. a decent chevy/ ford alternator can put out over 100 amps so a honda can probably do like 60

Re: circuit breaker

your starter is going to pull about 200-300 amps +

breakers are slow-blow so 1-3 seconds at 150% rated load should not trip

Re: circuit breaker

just throw a 150 amp breaker in there and be good to go or a 150amp ANL/wafer fuse

really?

how much do you think it takes?

and please explain the guage of wire connected to the starter and the reason booster cables are so thick, and also why the starter circuit on many vehicles is not fused

and btw a starter will use more amps with a higher load, so spinning a cold engine will have a higher current draw than spinning a warm one, and even less if you connect one and have it sipnning in free air

I only used the CB on the lights. I had a 70amp alt at the time I have a 100amp alt on it now and dont run CBs I went back to a fuse block.

yes it is

bas numbers are for testing starterss on vehichle
and voltage is at 12v, a lower charger batt even 11v will take more
4cyl=150*-185
6cyl=160-200
8cyl=185-250amps at 12v

voltage matters by
good bat 11v during cranking=180a =2090w
weak batt 9.8v=213a = 2090w

so ya the starter amp draw can be up there
