CIA drug smuggling... again

Some news just come out and once and a while some plane will go down with ties to the CIA and "coincidentally" be loaded down with cocaine.

----... this is old news man... You ever seen that movie Air America? You ever heard of "the Secret War?"

We get too comfortable living here in America that we forget how the world works in places like SE Asia and South America. My gramps was a government official in Loas during the Vietnam war... he worked with CIA agents to cut off supply lines to the commies. There is a book called Tragic Mountains, that rattles off all the names of CIA agents involved in the secret war.

This is the stupidest report I've ever read! Purely mind numbing! :S They say this thing was carrying 6 tons of cocaine. Yeah thats great. to bad the Gulfstreams maximum payload 5,456lbs. OH MAN, SOMEONE CANT DO MENTAL MATH. There's a reason Fedex doesnt use Gulfstreams for package delivery. They're designed to shuttle people in suits with briefcases NOT Cargo. oh yeah, thats not including the Pilot and Copilot so drop it down to a 5,000lb or 2.5 tons. Second, they have this stupid "flight plan" starting at Bogota, which has an elevation of about 8,000ft. Whys this a factor? Well the higher you go the harder it is for the plane to climb. So at mile and a half above sea level, they're not going to have a full payload, just for the sake of being able to lift-off before the end of the runway. so make it more like 1.5-2 tons......if any at all. I'm a pilot and ask and other pilot on this forum cause I know there are some and they'll totally back me up on this.

----, you know them big timers dont' know or care about capcities. In their mind they are thinking.... "load dat sumbitch up!" "A captain, I don't think we are gonna make it off the runway." "bendeyHO... the plane is only half full, idiot! Keep loading the junk till its full."

probably the reason why it crashed man...

The webpage says 4 tons, which is 8k lbs, 2.5k over the limit. For the credit of the story, it did crash.

I don't believe the story, or any news that comes from sites like the dailykos. Although I do believe the government has some hand in the drug trade. Maybe not at a federal level, but there has to be some local/border authority that is raking in ---- loads of cash.

The whole freeway Ricky Ross is a shut and dry case when it comes to the government allowing drugs into the country and the CIA's connection to drug running to fund the contras. Gary Webb's death was also a bit fishy, but inconclusive.

With that being said I can honestly say business jet pilots are the sketchyish bunch I've ever met. It's always faster, further, farther with them....which is great when you're transporting 20 lives with you

story says it ran out of gas enroute towards cancun, thats 1400 miles from bogata, that plane has a range of 3800 miles so i am sure only taking as much fuel as they needed allowed them to carry more weight, but i'm not a pilot and don't want to debate this ---- because noone knows what the cia really does anyway, they report to noone and all their budget information is classified.

First of all they said 4 tons but still you're right. I work for Gulfstream, I've been on a bunch of G2's, there's no way they'd fit all that on one. Sure they are roomy for a business jet but unless it was gutted (wich it wasnt in the pictures) theres no way. You hear about smuggling aircraft going down all the time because they've been overloaded, A G2 can carry a payload of 5,450 lbs, nearly 3 tons. The jet pictured wasnt even a G2, it was a GIIB, it has GIII wings on it, so its payload could be a little more.

:y

I happened across it and wanted to see different opinions. For the record I'm not a liberal. Closer to a Libertarian/Constitutionalist. It is a known fact though that the CIA uses gulfstream type business jets operating under front companies to smuggle stuff into the country. Ever heard of Mena, Arkansas? The whole cocaine sham has been going on for some time. While Clinton was governor of the state he headed the Arkansas Development Finance Authority that set up loans with which they used as cover for laundering in drug money. Hillary's Rose Law firm helped as well. This kind of sums it up http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0
Not to mention Hillary's getting herself into some ---- recently too but that's ok. The Clintons have always been able to pull strings and make things just disappear. http://www.peterfpaul.com/2007/11/04...otect-hillary/

Im betting they were overweight and under-fueled. Im also guessing their burn rate was probably a bit higher than they expected. Out of curiosity ifly87, whats the likely hood that they also had the CG out of the brackets? Not sure how, tolerant the Gulfs are of mis-loadings
