i had one of those t3/t4 ebay turbos. lasted a good year. till i went n/a. never had a leak. i guess it is one of the one in a million things. also i only ran full syn oil. maybe that helped.

i have one sitting in my room. i plan on running it to see how long it will last. I plan on runnin a restrictor fitting with a whole size of .059" well see what happens.

i ran one for about a year with a Function7 restrictor. even with the restrictor the seals failed and smoked like a chimney :S

Yeah, they're completely hit or miss. I know of one(out of like 5 other ebay setups I know) that lasted over a year, and still going strong.
