chevelle wheel help.

2 Attachment(s)
looking for some knowledge/opinions here on what to do with my chevelle.

its been just sitting w/ the engine in pieces and it hurts me to look at it.

so im thinking about selling my torq-thrust 2 wheels with the goodrich T/A radials on them for like a 1200 bucks.

and then taking that money and buying some new steel wheels that will fit the OEM hubcaps but are alot wider to give me better handling.

i think it will still look clean as ---- but will leave me with like 600 bucks to finish rebuilding my engine.

what you guys think?

car now.

lol
yeah go for it. 1200 bux of wheels/tires is a good trade for a running car

Hell yeah sell the wheels, get what you need to make ---- happen.

You can always save up and get nicer wheels down the road.

You know honestly you will more than likely be able to find a sweet minty set of turd gen Z28 rims for cheap too. Better than steelies and will still look good.

Re: chevelle wheel help.

and its a numbers matching all original car, the only thing not stock about it is the radio, front brakes, wheels and paint. so putting the stock wheels on would make more sense.

everything else is completely restored from the year one catalog. which by the way is the wrong ------- company to go through.
so much work to make their fit right. but it looks tits and feels great driving it.

Re: chevelle wheel help.

Then go with steelies, just don't pay a lot for them this is hmt they should be free.99

Re: chevelle wheel help.

anyone know the widest tire you can fit on a 7in rim?

i know you can push the width i just dont know how much.

Re: chevelle wheel help.

Those wheels look awesome. Why take a step back like that? Sure you can sell the wheels and save up for some new ones but why degrade only to fix something else? You should just save up for the engine rebuild or whatever it is you're thinking about doing. Just my opinion there.

Re: chevelle wheel help.

with the money i could enhance the overall apperance of the car.

and personally the wheels look awesome but dont fit the car, its supposed to be original, the color and the wheels were my dads idead.

i wanted to paint it a sweet Jaguar shade of white(the original color) and do the stock wheel thing.

Re: chevelle wheel help.

I don't know man I think that car looks ------- amazing just the way it is. I used to want pretty much that exact thing only a certain shade of blue I liked instead. If you have the caps, sure pick up some cheap steelies as you find em and clean em up, but I'd still keep those rims on it they just loo too nice. If your tight on cash to rebuild the engine just throw a jy engine in for the time being. Just degrease it throw it in and never open your hood until you get the real engine rebuild and swapped back in.

Re: chevelle wheel help.

holy ---- that car looks bad ass. i'm not sure if i would sell the wheels to get the engine put back together, but i know it sucks having a car sitting for a long time. are those the og hubcaps?
what engine?
327?
i ------- love chevelles
numbers matching kiss my ass, that car is worth some money.

I run MT 10" wide slicks on a 15x7 rim. no problem, slightly less foot print than with the right rim. but it works and hooks cause i have tones of wheel well.
