chemistry hopefully someone can help me
kwik I need this in 5 minutes. I have to submit it before 11.59 how many grams of O2 are in a liter.
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
guess not, and just to let you guys know 16g of 02 does not equal one liter
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
Sorry dude, that kinda blows :-\
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
i tried to ask jeeves but he didnt know. stupid jeeves >:(
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
yeah it does blow, books are gay, and these chemistry 'cliff notes' are gay too, didn't even have any thing for it. But oh well I guess. :'(

Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
isn't liters volume and grams mass? how do u change mass into volume?
sorry i know it's past the deadline but i was curious.. bump for the answer! |
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
I wish I could tell you the answer. the deadline is already past, so I'll figure it out later. I know it's gonna be something stupid, I know it is because I did know it at one point in my life, I just don't like to remember things :P
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
you use the mass of o2 at one atm pressure and constant density/temp.
i'll give you a hint, there is a little creature that burrows around in the ground that could help you with that problem. ;) |
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
dude, its just mass over molar mass
eg. Mass of 1 litre = 1000g formula for water = h20 therefore 18g per mole of water meh, couldnt be fucked doing the rest |
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
Ah ----, we learned this two years ago in school..
Thanks to your hint bamboo, I'm remembering that ----.. I remember because I didn't pay attention and drew a picture of a mole playing guitar. :P |
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
PV=nRT
P in Pa V in m^3 n = #moles R = 8314 T in kelvin assume stp n = (PV)/(RT) = (101000)(1/1000)/(8.314)(273) = 0.045 mol O2 = 32g/mol, so 0.045*32 = 1.42g |
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
hence my hint about the little burrowing guy (mol)
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
Give us a another problem...
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
that formula is easy to remember cause it almost says pervert ;D
|
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
been awhile since i did this.....
here is a quote. The amount of substance in grams equal to its atomic mass in grams is called the gram atomic mass. For example, atomic mass of Na is 23, then gram atomic mass of Na is 23 gm. Atomic mass of O is 16, gram atomic mass of O is 16 gm. Gram atomic mass is also known as the gram atomic weight of a substance. -So we need to know the atomic mass off "O" -then we also need to know how much Grams make up 1 Liter. -Then multiply the answer By 2 (becasue Oxygen atoms exist as O2 in the air) ---------------------------------------- please dont quote me... -----------------------------------------i might be wrong, but kwik I need this in 5 minutes. I have to submit it before 11.59 how many grams of O2 are in a liter. my question is............ In a liter of what? |
Re:chemistry hopefully someone can help me
you guys are good, where were you at 11:55 last night :-\ :P
I still haven't bothered figuring it out yet. I really should get started on studying, got a big test coming up. :( Chingro, how many grams of O2 are in one liter of 02. Basically how many grams does one liter of O2 weigh. |

Correct, balanced equation: 2H2 + O2 2H2O Balanced equation, but coefficients not whole numbers: H2 + 1/2O2 H20 This reaction is balanced, but its coefficients are not least whole numbers: 4H2 + 2O2 4H20 A mathematical equation: x+2x=3x A chemical equation identifies the starting and finishing chemical as reactants and products: reactants products Example (combustion of propane) C3H8 + 5O2 3CO2 + 4H20 A chemical equation is balanced when it reflects the conservation of mass and charge. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
