Chem Dip blows
 

I finally have a day off and decided I would rebuild some spare calipers i have laying around. Went down to oreilly's and bought some seals and while broswsing for some carb/brake cleaner i see Chem Dip. I thought to myself it would be alot better(for my hands) to use rather than some spray and a brass brush. I just dipped a caliper and piston into the bucket for about hour and pulled em out looking the same :X. I thought when i saw the ---- bubbling up that it was strong but i am rather dissapointed. Anyone got some tips better than this crap? :X

BTW this ---- stinks :X

you talking about the Berryman's Chem Dip, one gallon can with 3 quarts of cleaner and a basket inside??????

Work great on pistons, sucks on paint.

Exact same ----, i was expecting the calipers to shine or at minimum remove the crap out of the caliper bore/piston but that ---- came out exactly the same way it went in. I'm doing the left side and am going to leave that ---- a bit longer.
Man that ---- stinks, i can smell it in my nose 20 minutes after just removing the caliper :X.

That's the whole reason i bought it i was like "Maybe if i just use this crap i can just wipe the crap off" It's doing a decent job atm with a longer time in the tank and a nice brass brush -_-. I wish i wasnt so lazy to go buy a brass brush for my dremel :X.

---- simple green, castrol purple cleaner is the best.And these cleaners are only good for cleaning engine bays and intakes : p. Overall ---- the environment i'm going to die eventually anyways ; ).

castrol purple cleaner is the ------- ----. but its loaded with phosphates and is killer on your skin if you mess with it for awhile. i used to detail seadoos with it.

DO NOT leave the container open in the garage overnight.........

woke up the next day, whole house smelled of that ----!!!!!

BTW it is kinda toxic also......just old school Carb Dip, been using it for 28 years!!!!!!

I used that stuff to clean carbs all the time and it worked for me, now I have my own hot tank

HAHAHA this is the same chemical i used for the inside of my car and almost got fired for smelling so ------ bad.
