I give that a 7 on a scale of 1-10. I understand the motivation, and approve of the result, but the guns were kinda anti-climactic after my senses have been trained by Hollywood Explosions. Thermite would have been good, or start a small fire inside the car after packing it with propane cylinders....

I probably would have done something a bit different, I perfer sawzall action and ripping parts off. (example A-team van)

Speaking of Thermite, how do I make that ----? I jacked a bag of Iron Oxide from the foundry's warehouse that I work in, from what I have read I still need magnesium, any info you could provide would help, PM it to me if you want.

Magnesium is common as backpack frame tubes, or was at one time. Just filings from that... the magnesium burns hot and bright, and ignites the rust. It's not a restricted material AFAIK, poke around.

Well i would have gone all out and taken one of these

the green one
https://i2.ebayimg.com/02/i/07/57/26/11_1.JPG

packed it full of gun powder and the rest is history, that would have left a big ole crater somewhere in the woods

Go to a camping store. Magnesioum is usually sold bonded to flint so that you can use shavings of it to start a fire.

You only need a very small filing of magnesium to get the rust started. Also talk to a chem prof, magnesium is in labs everywhere in ribbon form for starting reactions like the rust stuff.

Thermite is a mix of iron oxide and alumium. I can't remember the ratio off hand. I used the recipe in the Anarchist cookbook/jolly roger cookbook. You heat it up in a cast iron pan and mix it together.

You light it with the magnesium ribbon. I made it in high school, so stole the mag from the chem lab. Thermite's awesome. I didn't have anything good to burn, so just burned a hole in the asphault.

thermite burning a whole thru engine block vid
http://www.guzer.com/videos/thermite_car.php

This is the recipe I used:
http://www.skepticfiles.org/new/010doc.htm
"- Crush the rust into a fine powder and heat it in a cast-iron pot
until it is red. Now mix the pure iron oxide with pure alluminum
filinos which can be bought or filed down by hand from an aluminum
tube or bar. The ratio or iron oxide to aluminum is 8 grams to 3
grams.

- Congrats! You have just made THERMITE! Now, to light it...

- Thermite requires a LOT of heat (more than a blow torch!) to
ignite. However, a magnesium ribbon (which is sorta hard to find..
call around) will do the trick."

Correction...smokeless gunpowder burns only when not contained, i.e. metal shell or casing. Enclose it in a small space and it def. does explode, although not as well as blackpowder ;D
