cheapest place to buy arp head studs?
what kind of prices have you guys seen around? the cheapest i've found is like 115 shipped. how about the golden eagle 'hd' headstuds, they're a tad cheaper, how do they compare to the arp's if any of you have had experience with them? ------- blew my hg, guess that's what i get for reusing my gasket with copper spray and reusing my oem head bolts :P

Re: cheapest place to buy arp head studs?
try lightningmotorsports.com, 89+ship for d series, which of course is the only real engine out there. none of that splitting your camshaft in two nonsense.

Talk to 88turbocrx. He just got his re-sale number for his upcoming site www.lsdmotorsports.com (ahhh, the shameless plug). He's connected with a few wholesale warehouses.

Re: cheapest place to buy arp head studs?
whenever i bought mine i didn't want to go through somebody who knows somebody, and i didn't want to deal with ebay or anything so the cheapest i found, (granted this was a couple years ago) was summitracing.com especially if you live close to the store (im in pa), i'm fairly certain the d16z6 fits d16a6, but it was that or d16y8, i can't remember, but i'm not sure what motor your using anyways
edit: just reread stealths post and i thought he said the guy knew somebody who had connections, so you might want to try him http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku |

for a b16, from what i've seen, the b series are around 30-40 dollars more than the d series :P nobody has any experience with the ge head studs? i don't see why they wouldn't be just as good if not better?

i've never heard of anybody using ge head studs, and i really didn't even know they made them... but when it comes down to it, wouldn't you rather spend the extra money to get a brand with a good reputation, this isn't something like a poster where it doesn't really matter if its a 100 dollar brand or a .50 poster |
Re: cheapest place to buy arp head studs?

Re: cheapest place to buy arp head studs?
110 for GE head studs... from 2004, but might still sell them, but honestly i would stick with ARP, i've searched a while trying to find reviews and everything else and can't,

Re: cheapest place to buy arp head studs?
I've got 2 motor's (Ls/Vtec's) running the ARP's and a fresh built motor running the Golden Eagle's(Ls/Vtec as well). only have about 200 miles on the GE's but they seem to be working well so far. GE claims they're better than ARP because they are straight material...... they say that you have to wear the black coating off of the ARP's a few time's to get them to work and clamp well????? I think they're the same though.......
