challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

I was thinking fluidyne and simillar alluminum radiators are so expensive. so since custom coach and tyrus both makes intercoolers which are simillar to radiators. why not give it a try and make a couple of civic radiators, sell them for the same price as your intercoolers that would saving some money, I volunteer to be the first to test one, dont flame me for this one its a great idea, I just post it first...whats up custom coach possible or not?

i think custom radiators are a great idea.....id love to get my hands on one if they start being built!!

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

How about a half and half. Like the top half is a radiator and the lower half would be an intercooler. Kinda brainstorming off of Stealth. Not sure if this would work or not, just an idea though.

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

that would be stupid....radiators get hot as ----, you dont want that touching an intercooler

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

I don't know, there are a few turbo cars that from the factory have the intercooler hooked next t the radiator. Seems to me like it would be really good for space saving and would be really convenient. For the heat coming off the radiator thing I'm sure it wouldnt be hard to put a strip of hard rubber in between the two to cut down on the heat soak.

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

Im not promising anything but I will look into it. Give me some dimentions to go on, what is the most popular size and location of the inlet/outlet, size of the inlet/outlet ect. Anything you can give me to go on would help. Bad news is I am SOOOOOO BUSY right now it will be November before I could even think about starting another prodject like this, but I will look into it.

Love the avatar Doc. My wife and I are still arguing over what's coming out of her mouth. I know what I think is cuming out of her mouth ::)

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

IF YOU WHERE TO PUT BOTH TOGETHER, THE RADIATOR WOULD HEAT UP THE INTERCOOLER. BOTH METALS WOULD BE TOUCHING.

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

where do you see $250???? i see $330 for a 92-95 radiator

Todd 09-08-2003 11:29 AM

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

Well the prices might have gone up.. they used to be $250.. That might have been my special price.. $330 is still not bad.

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

If you did do this. I would use the del sol b series automatic dual core radiator as the size/deminsions. The automatic has hose outlets the same size of D series motors. And is dual core, and small from the getgo. I got one in my car. But if you guys make one, I'm going to part with it. Gotta have the bling. ;)

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

I think the most popular radiator is the 92-2000 civic. but I would like a knockoff the fluidyne style, made for a 92-95 civic. I think some of you guys understood me wrong, when I compared radiators and intercoolers similar, all I meant was that they are design alike except that intercooler cools air, and radiator cools liquid. no combination here.

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

No one misunderstood you. I just got that idea from Stealth and expounded upon it. At this stage in the game if you don't know the difference between a radiator and an intercooler, you need to carry that ass back to skool son. I'm not directing that at anyone in particular, I'm just saying that by the general mentality of the users of this board that not knowing the difference would be preposturous. Nah mean?

Re:challenge! calling out custom coach and tyrus

just throw in a full length stock integra radiator and you will be set ;D ;D ;D ;D
