Thought I'd give an update.

Palm Centro gets an A+ as a toy, B as a phone. My major source of annoyance is that it's impossible to text/use the tiny keyboard while driving. I'm used to being able to text without looking on a normal cell's numeric keypad, not possible with this thing.

- prefer a slide open keyboard so it doesn't get trashed in my greasy work environment, but really not important as I can use a bluetooth headset when my hands are dirty and trash it.

You forgot THE most important requirement:
- Properly formats BangBro's websites.

I could drive past every police station in WA while texting on a traditional phone and never get a ticket. It's not like I'm looking someplace other than the road.

Yeah i noticed that when I have used the Ex's phone from time to time. Such little keys. you will get better at it though. I have a Treo 755p. Little tougher construction and larger key for my Jimmy Dean like fingers.

That's my only dislike of full qwerty keyboards. However, I've been accustomed to holding the keyboard sideways and I can still type one handed while rubbin one out driving down the road. Takes a little thumb and arm stretching, but is possible.

Update on my T-Mob wing (HTC Herald): I installed OpenTouch 6.0 (a custom firmware available on xda-dev site) and it is MUCH better. It uses less memory, runs much smoother, has a much nicer interface, and doesn't crash or do anything screwy. Much better than the OEM garbage they put on there. Also, they included the SMS-threading from WM6.1. It's a really nice feature. Instead of having to go through each individual message, the stuff is divided into "conversations" and shows up much like an instant messenger screen. Even nicer, when you delete the conversation, it deletes all the sent messages as well as incoming in that conversation. Much better than going to "delete all" and waiting 5 minutes for them to be deleted, or having to manually delete each and every message, etc.

I recommend anyone that has an HTC Herald/Tmobile Wing to upgrade to Open Touch v6 custom firmware :6
