CBR 900????
Well due to traffic and me having to drive way the hell out to san diego from OC every day for my medical externship pretty soon, I have been seriously thinking about getting a bike.. Someone told me to get one over 750cc or its really not worth it.... so my question to you guys is anyone have one? how reliable are they. How much does it cost to insure. and Is there a site where i can find a used one like 92-95?

I used to work for a Honda MC dealer (6 years), during which the CBR900RR was introduced...
Fast as hell, yes it's as reliable as gravity. The only ones we ever had in the shop were there for pipes, gearing (smaller front sprocket), K&N, tires, and the occasional 600 mile service. What almost every one came into the shop for eventually was an insurance estimate (which I did). Falling over in a parking lot was a minimum of $1000.
I don't want to sound like an old man, but I'm going to...
California traffic + fast motorcycle + lane splitting = extra danger. Go ahead and get it (I would) but don't be an ***, and get some good riding gear. It's not a matter of if you'll fall off, it's when.
Looking at buying a used one, make sure you pay close attention to the condition of fork seals (pretty common failure on any motorcycle), chain & sprocket wear, brake pads, and tires (damn expensive on a 900). Pay really close attention to the condition of the levers, handlebars (bent or not), fairing misalignments...basically anything that indicates it's been wrecked. You might have a hard time finding one that hasn't at least been dropped.

If its your first bike, then my advice is to stay under 700cc's. The bigger bikes are going to be a lot harder to ride, and get you into trouble faster. A good friend just picked up a Yahmaha 650cc and its plenty fast for him (he's a first time rider)
Also buy an older bike (like you are looking for) or something like that...basically buy something that you dont care about putting down, because IT WILL HAPPEN.

For anyone that is riding for the first time, buy a beater I wouldn't buy a brand spanking new bike. I know couple of people thinking that couple of hours riding would make them them experience riders.. WRONG!!!. They all had accidents. So, get a used bike then move on to something that you like. And get a LOUD *** EXHAUST!!!!! 
OH yeah, stick with a 600 for your first. It's plenty of power for anyone. Todays bikes with fuel injected system you can outrun just about anything. Do wheelies up to 4 gears straight...

The new 600's are pretty damn fast, especially the R6 and CBR 600RR because they've been able to drop the weight drastically in the last year. But when I had my 2000 GSX-R600 I wanted more bike in about a month of riding. Most 600's are registered for 280kmh and the 750's and above are 320kmh, I had no desire to go 280 let alone 320, I just wanted more torque.

For a first bike I would recomend a Ninja 250. Looks sweet, reliable, not to slow (tops out at 100mph at 14k in 6th, but it gets there FAST), but most importantly it is very light and very nimble.
Great for learning how to lane split and ride in traffic.

look.. i don't own a bike. i think there dangerous. but i have been riding for years. my two brothers own 1000cc and a 929cc. i'm always riding them. go for 750 and above. yeah a 600cc bike can do 160mph no problem, but the value goes to ----. once your on the hwy you will see the difference as well. as far as insurance, my brother is only 25 and the other is 30. they only pay about $65 for theft. i did a quote on myself just to see and it was only $87. you don't really need full coverage. because if you get into an accident. you'll be dead most likely.
