A lot of own Crx's, now heres the scoop. Obviously the blue book value on our cars isnt a whole lot, but I was wonderring, could a simple act of vandalism or theft cause a car like ours to be totalled?

Like I have Liabality insurance with fire and theft.

Say someone smashed my windows, slashed my tires, dented some body panels, that ---- adds up, if it goes over the value of my car, will they just cut me a check and take the car away or am I aloud to keep it or buy it back?

What if someone steals ----? Like they take my nitrous kit, cd player, speakers and do some body/window damage. I didnt tell the insurance company about the performance or aftermarket ----, would that count towards what they cut me/ total value?

Im seriously scared of this happenning where I am forced to park now in my townhouse complex and may fork out the cash to park across the street in a driveway if they could total it form something that stupid.

Edit: My only theft deterent as of now is a start and fuel pump kill switch, no money for a descent alarm just yet

Simple answer, yes. I knew a girl who had an 82 rx7 and was in a small fender bender... bottom line, one of her popup headlights wouldnt work after that, and since the car was only worth about $1500, and the part was expensive, they totaled her car. Usually if the damage to your car is = or greater than 40% of the value of your car, it will be totaled. We're talking bluebook value--theft or damage to your aftermarket items doesn't count towards this.

it doesnt take much to total a car. if you plan on doing it to your own car, make sure u have a good body shop that will clear everything for you. if not, your fucked.

Just get a job or save your money and do it right....your insurance will probably go up witha claim and it isn't worth the chance of getting caught for fraud....

Insurance fraud? Are you guys fucked, You have no idea how much time and money I just put into this car. Almost 3 grand on the body kit, hood, wing, moulding, rust removal and paint.

I also have a new sohc zc in it, with mods and a nitrous kit

I just wanted to know if they totalled them because of vanadalism.

So say they steal my nitrous, 4 point harness, cd player, speakers and 50 cd's. Absolutely none of this is coverred by insurnace? so it wouldnt be totalled....

Custom body work, I did it all myself, a cracked fenders or whatever would force me to repaint the entire car... see what I mean

I just wanna know what is and isnt going to happen if in case it does happen. Im in a small town and I havent heard much of auto theft, but vandalism seems to be pretty huge
