Yeah but then its not an upgrade. im not hating on the 12a, but its like our d15's. They are pretty much junk stock. And since its a rotary, you cant really do anything besides new apex seals and a street port. Might as well upgrade while he has the chance. Plus a v8 is way more powerfull and a much cooler swap for about the same amount of money. I think the 383 is a badass idea, thats what my friend uses in his imca dirt track car, and it hauls that heavy *** monte carlo around pretty swiftly so i can only imagine what it will do in a 7.

I am not going to argue a v8 in a RX7 wouldn't be bad ***, power to weight ratio yeah...but I have always been a believer that if you want a v8 in a car, get the car more fitting for a v8. A rx7 needs one thing under the hood....a rotary. Sell that chassis for like $500, then go buy a Camaro or a Rustang or something, call it a day.

but as far as a v8 swap goes. right now thats all i think would be worth the time. plus then i can haul around the civic if i have to.

i understand where you are coming from frank. i already got the Trans Am(TA) that the one is going to go into. i figured id do something different. i know of a few people around my area that have an rx7. 1 1st gen and 1 2nd gen. they both like them very very much but as far as upgrades go, they tell me it just cost to much when it comes to motor rebuilds and motor work. if i had the money i wouldnt complain. i bought the car when it was running great, did perfectly fine, i just dont understand why the motor had to let go like that.
