So Igo to my broker the other day to get a quote for my winter beater. 93 Ford Escort LX. They want 2300 for 6 months. My broker thought that was insane. So she repriced my car and they want 2400 for 6 mon.

I'm paying 1150 for 6 and it renewed 2 weeks ago. Man did they mess up. So now I'm looking for a cheaper rate and no one will take my because I'm under 25. I have my full graduated licence and No tickets/charges!

So what i might do is insurure my beater for the winter under my mom as the principle driver(she has no vehiclesin her name, her car is company provided) and cancell the Civic until the spring/summer.

Question.
What do you guys do for insurance. Keep in mind that I'm in ontario canada.

I don't know how insurance works in Canada, but that price sucks! I'd do what you said, put it under your mom's name. I'm 25, and I pay about $450 for 6 months... for two cars. :o (New Mexico here)

If its a seasonal car you might get away with "part-time" insurance. Meaning you tell the agent you only drive it say to the grocery store once a week.

I'm 18, have been to court twice and been pulled over more times then I care to count, and I still only pay $316 every 6 months on my CRX. and yeah they car is registered to me so I'm the primary driver.

i pay 300 a year on one way insurance for a 93 civic lx
the car is under my fathers name
im 21 but until ur 25 make sure u dont own a car unless it was made in the early eighties or the insurance is gonna rape u

lmao, insurance is different in other provinces though.

i pay 235/mo (1410 for 6mo) for 2 cars. my CRX and a 94 2dr cavalier. Liability only.

Insurance in ontario is out of hand. Something needs to be done otherwise no1 under 25 will own a car and the car industry will take a big poop here.

The key is.. find a relative that lives up north and say u live there. they will insure it.

The costs depend on, car, model, year, age, GENDER, and location.

I'm doin some searching online and finding some prices closer to my current amount but I'm only quoting with half the liability that I have now(1,000,000 to 500,000)

for my winter car is 76 $ a month. so 912 $ a year with autopac insurance.
