wired about $25
wireless about $35
- but IMO the wired ones work better, all have RCA inputs

yeah I do have AIM, but I'm rarely on, PM'ing me here is the best way or you can email me, same thing though.

Just for the record all of my HMT peeps will get things at cost whenever possible. I have everything audio and security related.

It is a small box that has an antenna input & output. You put it in-line in the antenna chain before your radio.

It transmits a radio signal into your radio this way.

It also has RCA inputs so you can connect a Discman or whatever. The cord to do this can be purchase at Radio Shack.

You just preset one of your radio buttons to the FM modulator's frequency.

It has a switch to supply power to the unit. Turn it on when you want the external source to play through the stereo. Turn it off when you want regular FM reception.

sweet! i knew you needed one of those, but i didn't know exactly how they worked. so all i would need to put my xbox in my car or truck would be a screen, an fm modulator, and power adapter (and xbox of course)? no guys, i'm not going to rice out my car with screens, but it would be nice in my xterra, especially my little girl could watch dvd's on road trips instead of throwing cookies at me ;D

For those of you that have an aftermarket stereo with RCA inputs, the FM modulator isn't nessesary.

A lot of the latest models (of aftermarket stereos) have the inputs that are required to do this.

Connecting the external audio source in this way is a far superior option. Namely sound quality & convenience.

Essentially...yes.

But, It's a little bit more involved getting it all integraded into the vehicle though.

That's where a good installer comes in.
