I just put in my tranny and everthing worked well when i took it off. Now it workes good 1-5 i just cant put it in revese, like it will not move and when i do push hard enough nothing happens, any ideas on were to start or whats wrong with it

I have the szme thing. After cracking the tranny and taking it completely apart to weld it. We finally got it all back together and reverse sort of works. I can put it in move backward but I have to hold it there and some time it bangs out.

Did you have the tranny apart?

If you did did you align you shifter forks with the tranny in nuetral?

yes i had tranny apart but now that you said that about aling shift forks i think i had car in 1st but not sure

park where you can pull straight out. dont make 3 point turns.

Well there is nothing you can do now, take the tranny back out and see what you did wrong. Lots of people who dont have much experience taking trannys apart always goof up on the reverse gear and dont put it back in correctly.
