Canadian health care = Bullshit!!! (Huge fucking rant because I'm pissed)
 

Well, here is a little story about how fucked up us poor people have it.

Over the past month and a half I have been getting this severe pain in the back of my head, it would come and go, sometimes it would hurt to lay down on a pillow at night, I felt around but found nothing, now a bit before that I wacked my head on a shelf and so I thought all this time it was just a bruise and it will go away, but I did notice alot of head aches over the past month so I kept taking all sorts of over the counter pain killers and it seemed to work.

Well today something triggered the worst ------- pain I have ever felt, not only that but the spot where the pain is was bulging out of the back of my head, seemed like a blod clot or an anurism, I vomited and passed out oh and my blood pressure is 200 over 122, so I went to the ER and guess what, there is nothing they can do to me, at first they said they are full, then my parents got involved and they finally let me go in.

So they got me to lay down, the doctor comes in to the room and feels around the back of my skull, tells me there is nothing there and discharges me, I'm like no no wait, I've been having these pains for the last month and a half, there is no way you can tell me I'm fine, so we got in to an argument, he felt it again and told me my vitals are fine.....200/122 sound fine to you?

he said if I dont leave he'll get cops involved, so I told him to go ---- himself and went to a different hospital, guess what, its closed.

So I'm sitting here now with a huge bulge in the back of my head, extreme pain, feel like I'm about to vomit and nobody can help me, I have to wait a day to see a doctor who will probably be as dumb as this stupid ----.

Now do you see why rich people have it good?

p.s. american health care isn't any better. Doctors always seem to assume you're full of ----, tell you you're fine, then send you a 400 dollar bill. Google is my doctor :-X

Sounds like a lovely hospital you went to :X

After my two serious car wrecks where I needed to go to the ER they made me wait for an hour before going in. They could've atleast gave me some morphine in the waiting room :y

Sounds like you need to sneak over to the US of A and get a doctor to check you out. The hospitals in pittsburgh are top notch ;)

London Ontario, blood pressure is 170/98 my mom gave me some of her meds and it made it better, lump is still there and I can feel blood pulsing through it.

so does canadia free healthcare cover regular doctor appointment? rather than emergency room visits?
meaning, can you schedule an appointment with a doctors office or some kind of specialist to look at you?

ps i pay $3200 a year for health insurance that i don't use, and would have recieved the same treatment if i did, lol.

170 is like stage 3 hypertension as in prepare for a heart attack or stroke. I am going to take a stupid wild ass guess and say you have an abcess or boil, that pocket of infection is irritating vascular walls and poisoning NERVE cells causing nerve damage about an inch from your brain. Wikipedia septicemia, or call a dentist and ask what happens if you let an abcessed tooth go untreated. There's other stuff it could be all of it about that fucked up. GO BACK TO THE HOSPITAL NOW. If you live consider suing for malpractice.

---- emergency go see a doctor at a clinic, emergency= wait for ever then tell you its all good, maybe if every ------- didn't go in for a sore toe or a cold they would take us seroisly. If I go to the hospital soebody better help my ass because I'm probably dieing.

wow that sucks martin, maybe try going to the walk-in clinic.

Yes, our health care covers everything but dental(accept for wisdom teeth pulling) but doesn't cover perscriptions

Trust me, if they find something big, which they will since this is NOT normal, I will be back in there suing the piss out of that ------- hospital, mind you I probably wont win but its worth a shot.

As for what it is, I hope its not in my brain, I mean its on the outside of the skull so how could it be?

I am about to go to a walk in clinic now and get a second opinion, the bulge is pretty big today and hurts alot.

When you let the gov't run the health care it just works like everything else. Imagine your last experience at a large DMV office, now imagine that was an ER.

Same thing in Sweden. Anyone that can afford it doesn't use the gov't care even though they are taxed for it. They all have private DRs they see. Good luck to any of you socialist countries, you are fucked.

Well, a small update, I was called by a family friend who told me about a doctor who is really good and cares about patients more than $$$, so I went cuz I had nothing to lose, I thought at first that it will be the same BS as it was at the hospital.

Well he ended up getting me an appt for an MRI, then larer today he calls me and tells me he made reservations at the hospital for me to get a CT scan, I was like HOLLY ----!

so I went for my CT, showed nothing (thank god) they checked out my bump on my head and I got several opinions, could be a blood clot on the outside of the skull or an infection that was building up for the past month and a bit, I have to go in for further testing, I still have a lump and it still hurts like no tomorrow, but at least I am getting somewhere now and there is nothing wrong with my brain.

so further testing awaits, tomorrow I'm getting an Xray and we'll see what the lump is.

No because I'm still well alive and guess what, its not going to change any time soon, I'm actually a pretty healthy guy, never complain about anything small, and now that my CT scan tells me my brain is fine, I'm happy, as for blood pressure well I'm on meds for that and with more tests I'm sure I'll be fine....All thanks to 2 doctor who actually gave a ----.

I'm glad that everything is working out okay for you. I told my wife the night I read about this stuff, and she said you definately should be at the hospital now. Hopefully they help you get this thing taken care of 100%, and you can go back to turbo'ing yo ridezzz y0. Get well soon.

Thanks guys, on monday I have an appt to get another head scan, this walk in clinic doctor gave me a number you call if youre looking for a famiy doctor, so hopefully soon I will have one, its really hard to get a family doctor these days.
The lump on my head is not showing any signs of improvement and my blood pressure still goes up and I still get killer headaches.

Uh, right. If that's a knot of out of control infection an inch and a half from your brain, good luck with that. Stro-o-o-oke city.

I say you're as good as fucked until you undergo a treatment that shows some results. Trust me, I was pretty fucked up by septicemia, and when it was worst I couldn't get out of bed to tell anyone, or find my phone five feet away on the floor to call for help. And I'm not a doctor to know what's up, but from what little I do know as an average intelligent guy I'd say infection/blood/poisoning/septicemia is the best diagnosis you could get right now.
