not a cd key just the label that is on the win98 cd... so it'll reconmginize it as a cd that i can boot off..

Says who? I've got my Win98 SE CD here with just a random label of "Win98 SE" and it boots fine. The label isn't a prerequisite. Just make sure you have the "Microsoft Corporation.img" file burned correctly.

most cd burning programs have an option to make a cd "bootable". It has nothing to do with the label on the cd. The "bootable" option just loads some OS files onto the cd so that it can boot.

i tried to do ti on a floppy.. the only one i can find ti fucked up and i cant write to it... lol

the surface is fucked up

sometimes it will write to it. then it cant read it. then sometimes it cant even format the disk. its just a old ------ disk that doesnt work lmao...
