Ok, a couple years ago, I had my '94 Ford Taurus GL. Had the 3.0 OHV V6. Only 140? 155? Horsepower at the fly, and 160 ft/lbs torque. An automatic, only had a K&N and some turbo muffler. Sure did sound great, but slow as heck.

I took it to the track one night for a few runs. On average I'd get a 17.8-18.0 time. Yea, very slow, BUT, the thing that gets me was my trap speed. I was pullin 87-89MPH traps?! Thats good for what, mid to high 15's? I don't know, but either way I don't get it.

Anyone able to explain how this was possible?

I can explain, Your car is an automatic.. You really have no launching comparison or first gear pull to that of a manual. Your car has enough "power" to get u into a 15 sec 1/4 mile... but all things considered.. That is why u were getting 17 sec passes
