can i make 28" slicks fit?
someone i know has some 28" goodyear slicks that he probably isn't going to use anymore. right now they are mounted on rims that i wouldn't use anyway, but they are 15"x10" 5 bolt centerlines. i need a 15" rim to put it on because i can't get anything smaller over my brakes. i know they are way too big, but just wondering if there is a way to make them fit in the front end of my crx without hacking the quarters. perhaps i could make some just for when i go to the drag strip?

Re:can i make 28" slicks fit?
You could try rolling the fenders if width is the issue, that shouldn't make them look bad.
If it is a height issue you can drop out the fender liners, they are just plastic liners. Only bitch is that they are held on by like 15 plastic fastners. |
Re:can i make 28" slicks fit?
yeah, i rolled the fenders a few years back when i had the car painted. removing the plastic liner would cover the clearance issue in the front, but i don't think it is going to do much for the back of the wheel well. i just don't think they are going to fit. what is the biggest slick anyone has out there?

Re:can i make 28" slicks fit?
I've heard of 26" on 13's but not 15's and 28's... Not sure how big you can go, I'm still using my little 20x8's lol

Re:can i make 28" slicks fit?
I think that you are gonna have to make some structural changes. I really can't see it working out. This is the perfect excuse to make a one piece fiberglass Hood/bumper/fenders.

And after you get them to fit, you'll need to find about 2 million horsepower to spin em'. :-\

Re:can i make 28" slicks fit?
may i suggest a 500 shot of n20 and a sawsall..
that should get those to work |
Re:can i make 28" slicks fit?
Just get coil-over sleeves on stock springs and raise the car. I've got almost 24" snow tires onto a 1.5" lowered hatch before, so I could see fitting 28s if you raise it an inch or so, as for rear clearance... no promises.
