Default can i get your opinions: looking to buy t3 .42/.48 turbo

i found an Airesearch t3 .42/.48 turbo for sale. here is a pic:

however.. the seller notified me that he sold the "5 bolt swing valve and internal wastegate actuator."

i don't know too much about turbos? but would i be able to pick up another internal waste gate or swing valve for cheap? i'm not even sure what the swing valve does? isnt' that part of the wastegate?

anyways, plz help me out. i want to make sure i'm not getting screwed over.

thanks very much,

Luke

shouldnt be hard at all to find the things hes not including. A dime a dozen for those turbos. Try to get him to go down on the price though for the inconvience of you having to find the parts. -Nick

You're missing these parts, but not these exact ones:

ahh. i see. the "wastegate swing valve assembly elbow".. does that bolt up to the exhaust housing on the turbo? does that then lead to your down pipe?

thanks for your help,

Luke

on a T3 there is a exhaust flange on the exhauts housing that boplts to a wastegate housing. the wastegate housing houses the flapper (swing valve ) that flapper is connected to the wastegate actuator (the brass cannister) the wastegate housing has a flange on it to the downpipe. your twop options are, buy a wastegate housing/actuator, or buy a 5 bolt block off flange and an external wastegate. I'd go for the second option. it would only cost a little bit more and an external wastegate makes for more controlled boost (less spiking), better flow, and looks a bunch cooler.

so if i had a dp made up with that 5bolt flange that blocks off that "flapper" or whatever... i would then HAVE to get an external wastegate? whats the cheapest one? i don't have ton of cash to put into this hmt project and i really wasn't planning on running anything over the stock wastegate setting.

get back to me asap!

thanks!
