I want to test run my turbo around the neighbor hood after my setup is on. i haven't finished my down pipe completely, and i just want to test drive it. If i ran the turbo with the exhaust side exposed and with an internal wastegate flap to open to the atmosphere, would it really hurt anything. I won't run it for long like that. Will it still get boost?

 

just take the time to finish it.

 

i ran mine like that around the block before i went to get my downpipe made but my wastgate flapper was still controlled by the WG and it was basically open DP. you can hear that ---- spool loud as hell, even in reverse . i don't think it would be a big problem if you drove it around the neighborhood just don't get on it, your gonna have to run it like that to the exhaust shop anyways right?
