can heat affect my speakers?

ok so the ladt audio thread i made was complaining about a popping noise. i replaced the deck and that seemed like it fixed it. i ran rca cables to my amp instead on an rca convertor box. but now the popping is back. i noticed it only happens during the day when its 105+ outside. i know the heat can melt the glue in the speakers resulting in a blow speaker sound, but do you think this could be my problem? i need to upgrade to better 6.5's anyways, and maybe run a 4 channel amp on them to make it sound better. hell maybe even a set of tweeters.

when does it pop?

if its when the music gets loud, then turn the ---- down. its popping because you are bottoming out the suspension of the speaker and will blow it soon if you not careful or have crappy equipment

btw, sound better doesn't mean you need a bigger amp. you want to sound better get a set of components

Being that the average temps have been in the upper 90s here in the south and is probably 10-30 degrees higher (or more) in the car, I don't think it's the heat.

I don't know ---- about audio crap though so I have no clue.

In my personal experience popping noises in the audio usually indicates loose wiring or broken wires. Start checking where it makes the most sense.

thanks joshmo. i decided to check the "professional install" that best buy did and found a loose speaker wire that i guess occasionally touches the other wire and cuased the popping. havent heard a hint of popping since i fixed that.

I have some tweeters you should buy some. Sold a couple of pairs on here. Also have some nice 6.5"s that won't fit in my door.

The only other popping i can think of would be because the ohms at the speakers were lower than the amp was rated to handle... For example 4 or 6 ohm speakers will work on an 8 ohm home theater system but you can blow fuses when you turn it up and it will make some mean popping noises

it will work, its just going to blow up the amp or the speaker one, which ever is built worse
