Camaro

You guys know anything about Camaros? I was at my mom's friends house the other day and her son had a 1968 and a 79 camaro that he was working on. Earlier my friend told me that is i wasnted a cheap car to hook up the a camaro would be perfect and they look cool. Well i looked into it and i figure that this could be an option. Anyways, what year should i get? i dont really think it matters cause they all look cool but i dont know which year to get. V8 is a must and does anyone know and web sites that are camaro based?

HUH...camaro's suck...I'm not a domestic basher or anything, but I'm just SOOO tired of those cars, UNLESS it's a 95+ SS...those I like...

Re:Camaro

camaros are fast when they heavily built, I have a friend here that is kicking ass here with a camaro in pro, not sure what year it is. but still dont like them anyways. I kick the ass of a lot of z28 with my little four banger rice burner like they love to call, just cause the dont understand whats under the hood. ford mustangs? dont get me started.

Re:Camaro

you people are talking about hte newer ----. anyhting after 71 is a POS. the lower years have alot of balls and will rip alot of you turbo guys in half. The camaro i own is a 69 SS 396. And yes it is very expensive to get it right unless you plan on gettign it and tubbing it out and leaving the body shitty just to go fast. Another one that is fun is a barracuda with a 440 (69 of corse). Both of thoes cars kick some serrious ass. Now as V8 goes if there turboed that would be some fun ---- to drive. BTW my 69 camaro with the big block 396 in it weighs just under 2600 lbs. Its just as heavy as most civics, del sols, and integras.

Re:Camaro

71 - 89 are trash

although stock iroc z will own most civic's with swaps

stock irocz = low 14s 1/4 & street tires

i have a 67, they're awesome. if you want to fully restore one it'll cost you about 15k.

if you want to make it look good and have a kick ass engine that'll smoke every turbo car here except jeff's it won't cost much. SBC parts are SOOOOOOOOOO CHEAP.

you could build a 11:1 compression solid lifter cam motor and in a 1s gen camaro you would run low 12s or faster, then add a shot of nitrous and your drivetrain in the limit.

mine is 11.7:1 race heads hypertecnic <- spelling? pistons no name rods stock crank stock block holly street dominator intake hooker headers cran solid lifter cam & roller rockers holly 750 double pumper carb

it runs like a raped ape and revs to ~7000-~7200. and is a all torque built motor.

all these idiots that say camaros are peices of ---- just hate gettin beat by such a cheap car.

you can get a g machine chassis from chassisworks they're 1400 dollars and will give you disc brakes and make your car handle with any import, i saw a 67 chevelle with a g machine chassis and it owned a bunch of rx7s, porsches, late model camaros/mustangs and 80s vettes on a road course.

btw my camaro is not very heavy. it weights 3300 with everything in it. & sound system.

oh and TT350 @ 9psi in a camaro = never beat on the street or at least very rarely.
