this is a picture of my turbo, it is a TD04HL turbo from a 96 Eclipse GST, to my knowledge.. im trying to fit it to a 1985 Toyota MR2 and im wondering... 1, what turbo is it? and 2, what header flange should i be looking for? T3/T4, or T25/T28?

if you want more pictures just ask

if thats is a 13b then it didnt come off a 96 eclipse. it came of a 89-90 eclipse, talon, etc... if its a 14b its the later years of the 1g dsm. t25 is from a 2g dsm. 13b and t25 flanges are different.

Well im glad you replied then,
i was told that it came off a 96 Eclipse Turbo (GST) the guy who sold it to me drove up in the car (i have no reason not to believe him) and his car was a 5-Speed manual, meaning this turbo in-fact cannot be a 13G because of the sole fact that Mitsubishi only put the 13G on the auto cars.

After doing a little research i found a few pictures and a few things, 1 thing saying the 14B has 1 stud that doesnt go through, and 3 studs that do, my turbo has 1 stud that i cannot remove, leading me to believe it is a 14B turbo, another thing to note, the 13G has a different wastegate then the 14B, my turbo clearly matches a 14B and not a 13G. Another thing would be the intake part of the turbo, mine has 2 bolts that remove this black tube, on the 13G the turbo is 1 solid piece, no bolts.

picture of the flange and the intake side of the turbo being different from mine

so yes to confirm i was incorrect and it is NOT a 13G it is a 14B

and to add more, it looks like the 13G has a 3 bolt pattern for the exhaust out, mine has a 3 bolt pattern aswell but my wastegate is connected directly to it, making it a 4 bolt pattern. the 13G looks to have an external wastegate? i could be wrong. either way this turbo is a 14B none the less ^_^

does it say td04 on the compressor or td05?
td04= 13g
td05= 14b
end of story, period.

So the turbo came from a 2g eclipse, it's likey the guy swapped the T25 to a 14b, those are way better (and bigger) turbos.

Lets see you AW11

Side notes to keep it straight and stop the ------ of misinformation...

If things aren't "swapped around", this is how it works.

13G (TDO4) - Turbo from an automatic 1G DSM Turbo - 1989 - 1994

14B (TDO5) - Turbo from a 5 speed 1G DSM Turbo - 1989 - 1994

T25 - Turbo from any 2G DSM Turbo - 1995 - 1999

If that turbo in the picture is the one you have that's neither one. I've never seen that turbo before. Also, what number is on the compressor housing. It should start 49178-*****. Search that part number on Yahoo and it will tell you what it is.
