i can blow through 5/16" plate at 100amps because of the 48v at max amperage output. makes keeping the puddle tricky but it really gets the job done slightly uglier than usual, and at less amperage. its kinda fun, can almost cut 1/4" plate with it ---- plasma, im all for epectrode madness yo.

i picked up a 130amp mig off of hf the other day:

For use with or without gas. Comes with welding torch, tip, 2lb spool of .030" flux core wire, grounding cord with clamp, brush/hammer, hand held welding mask and manual.Welds mild steel as thick as 18 gauge.

Input: 230V, 60 Hz, single phase; Welding current range: 30-120 amps; Duty cycle: 15% @ 115 amps; Draws 15 amps @ 230V; Max. open circuit voltage: 36V; Weldable wires: .023", .030", and .035 steel or stainless steel; .030" and .035" aluminum; .030" flux core

$399.99 from to $299.99, i got one that was returned because lack of instructions and box damage, soo... i pay $159.99!
