Default Business Ownership Advice

Hey guys I have a question regarding business for some of you business people. The company I work for is a growing construction business. My boss is a guy who moved up here from Florida and has alot of money quite frankly. He opened the company to bring in jobs. He hired my dad as a project manager, and my dad knows alot as he's been doing construction for like 30 years. I was brought in as well at the beginning as a laboror and kind of worked my way up the ladder, and paid my dues. As has another employee of ours. Our crew only consists of 3 laborors, and 2 project managers. (1 being the owner). Me and 1 other laboror were promised construction management jobs in the future (which i'm not too fond of at this point being only 21 and enjoying not having all of the responsibilities). My Dad and I get along away from the job, but sometimes during the jobs he gets too ------- excited and gets pissed off often. Now all of sudden the company has grown and needs another project manager. So my dad recommends my Uncle Todd, who has worked constructoin for al ong time.. knows alot of ----, but is a complete ------- on the job. Him and my dad have gotten into fights before. Todd has had a lack of work recently and has been calling my Dad over work to see if we had anything. Our work has picked up drastically. I'm not too fond of mixing family with business, but what do you guys think? I think that when you mix family and business then you have to take that home with you, and that causes personal problems. I always like to keep a business attitude at the job site, and when I get home i'm all fun, games, and everything else. The path the company is taking right now is really pissing me off, as they havent even advertised for construction management spots.. they just insist on hring my Uncle.. What do you guys think? I think its' a crock of ----

go back to school and repost this topic once you've taken english 1A or higher.

and it's becoming cliche to say "dont mix business with family." there's tons of family related business that thrive on the benefits of working with family.

If your dad and your uncle get into fights on the job, why is your dad recommending your uncle for the job? I say work there a couple years with your eyes open, and when you're ready go out on your own and start your own company. Then laugh at the bitches.
