Business Idea.. Ideas?

Business Idea.. Ideas?
This is just an idea I'm throwing around in my head. Could be a good idea, could be bad. Looking for some feedback.
I'll be moving in about 18 months and getting a house with a garage and probably some land (in SC where there are no emissions checks). Basically my idea is to buy a bunch of random cars and turbocharge them and re-sell them. As long as the cars are sold as-is and the front bumper support stays in tact do you think I'll get any heat from the po-po?
Manifolds and exhaust will be made by me (gotta learn to weld first of course). Hopefully I can find a cheap used pipe bender somewhere. Turbos will be misc. used ones in good shape. We all know how cheap just about any car can be turbocharged with a little inginuity and how much people (especially ricers) are willing to pay for that BOV sound.
So...good idea or bad idea?

so basically you want to have a bunch of project cars, finish them, and sell them? I think its fun idea, but it might not be too profitable. You would have to get the cars and parts really cheap. I think ebay would be your friend on this one. Just put TURBO JDM in your descriptions and the kids will love it.

lol i mean you can only get so much money for a turbo crx. I think it would be awesome to do nothing but build kits for a bunch of cars, but you wouldnt be able to make a full time job out of it i dont think, unless you charged people and had your own shop kinda deal. If it wasnt your full time job tho, you wouldnt be able to move a ton of cars, and you wouldnt make all that much money. If you wanted to do it as a weekend job, pick up an $800 civic and put 1200 into it, then ry and sell it on ebay for 3000 or something, it would be fun and make you a little extra cash. I dont know what the laws are there, but i know here in MA you can only sell 3 cars a year without having a dealers liscense. im good with business ----, if u wanna pm me so it isnt a discussion between us, feel free.

If you do it, do it with your best potential. You don't want people with blown motors, etc... Make them respect you by doing an excellent job.
Of course, we should do that in all areas of our life, heh.

A turbo charged car says to a potetial buyer, "Hi have been beaten to ---- and will most likely blow up on you." Or its like the ad that says very low miles, grandmother owned, never beaten, has spair set of slicks and extra Nitrous bottle with sale. Most people don't want that and I know I would never buy a car that has a turbo put on it before hand. I won't buy a car that has and aftermarket Header and Intake on it. There is an *** for every seat though, you just have to find that ***.
