Re: business blowout!

Haha sucks for you guys

Another scam? What is the $45,000 for? Whomever pays that will get a couple grand worth of cheap equipment and take over leases. Who has ever heard of paying to take over a lease? You aren't buying any equity.
Let's see; actual value of:

Exploited Racing's name/ website: Most likely in the negative thousands of dollars. Any smart entreprenuer would definately ditch the name which has a bad rep.

CNC Mill: You said it was a $26,000 Mill, but then you said you were paying $360 a month, which means it is just a lease on a CNC mill. Actual value: $0.

Business space: It's a freaking lease. Actual value $0.

Bandsaw: $700 (new)

Lincoln Square Wave TIG 175: $1600 (new)

Miller Pro-MIG 185: $480 (new)

Powdercoating spray booth (HotCoat) - $1000

Eastwood Professional Powdercoating system - $800

NOS Nitrous Refill Station - $800

Any flange inventory: $3000 owed to customers, so obviously there is nothing is stock. Come on, people. So actual value: -$3000.

So, if you ditch the name, and assuming all the equipment that you are actually selling is in perfect condition, the company you quoted is worth about $2400. Where the hell do you figure it is worth $45,000?

Re: business blowout!

I think the dude should just be looking for someone to assume all his lease and loan agreements. He can't possible hope to make money on a bad name. Maybe if he was a established business or something.

AgentMurdoc 04-06-2005 07:20 PM

Re: business blowout!

i would.

think about it. You advertise all over that the company is under new management. The majority of his customers commend his products, it's just his service. So everyone knows the products are of great quality, the name is known all over. Uh, new customers buy stuff being that it is under new management, werd ------s around that things are good, just as fast as it ------ around that he sucked.

We'd just be seeing threads that say 'Exploited Racing, the new guy rocks!'

His negative comments and weak business habits are the perfect publicity a thriving business needs.

Re: business blowout!

It would be in your favor to take a bad business like that and turn it around. It'd be good publicity, but given that this guy can't even tell you his name without lying tells you that he's crooked as ---- and probably has less than what he really says he has.

And any business that is worth buying is NEVER advertised "for sale" to your customer base. Those are behind the scenes operations. He's an idiot. ;)

Re: business blowout!

none taken. I dunno, I seriously think that his business has major potential. People still buy from him even though there are countless thread on countless forums about his crappy service. He claims to have grossed 110k last year. Maybe I don't think like ya'll do, but I could see good things come from it.

I.E. Movie stars, on news something bad they did, get jobs more. not always but a good amount (you like my grammar huh :P). TuPac, dead, sell more than life. I dunno, maybe it's just me :-\

It was a joke

I could write about 5 pages on why this would not be a good idea but I dont care enough to do so

Also the examples you just gave are dealing with the entertainment industry and individuals which is completely different from "real world" businesses.

So your saying my sex tape isn't going to help me sell flanges?

AgentMurdoc 04-06-2005 07:54 PM

Re: business blowout!

yeah i know my example wasn't the best it was just a quick comparison. as you don't care enough to write the 5 pages, I don't care enough to think too hard :P It was just the first 'semi' related thing i could think of.

I understand why and how it is bad, but I also see the positive. I seriously believe that the positive out weighs the negative.

But me owning it won't happen so, whatever :P

i know it was a joke, but- the best time you should buy a business is when it's down.....homie would probably let that go for under 40.....

What a ------- dirt bag. Leaves all those people hanging.....

Re: business blowout!

The only things he has worth any thing are the mill, and the other tools. But you would aquire his loan on the machine. It says he paid 100,000 something, and hes only paying $36X per month that means he owes a LOT of money. Used equipment isn't worth anything near what it is new. So that mill probably has negative equity. Meaning if you "aquire" it you will owe a bank more than it is worth.
In conclusion, This guy is the second biggest douche bag in the universe, and I'm glad his buisness is going under due to his horrible buisness practices. Also since no one will buy it unless they are retarded, he will probably have to declare bankrupcy.

Any publicity is good publicity, I'm in the same boat as Murdoc.

Although like Stealth said, no one ever sells a business to his customers...thats just a little shady.

frank no go to jap-an!?

if u ask me.. its only worth.. 30k. if the cnc is 26k (new) and hes paid it for a few years he might only have 15-20k owing. if he sells the biz for 30k he should pay off all loans and pocket the rest leaving the buyer w/ monthly lease for the building and monthly utility bills.

if he expects 45k and runs with it thats total BS and scammage!
