has anyone ever done a polyurathane bushing kit. If so... How much was kit and how hard to put in??

ur looking at 100 for the kit and a day and a half of labour, especially if its an older car

Funny you should ask. I'm in the process right now.

It's alot of work and you need to make a trip to the machine shop to get ---- pressed out. I wanted to do w write-up with pictures, but I got carried away and did like half the work before I even thought about taking any pictures. :-[

I would do sections at a time, especially if it's your daily driver. I haven't made my way to the back yet, but that should be cake compared to the front.

One tip: It is possible to put too much greese in the bushings/journals. If you do this you have to remove the bushing and remove some greese to get it to compress all the way. It's a slut.

The hardest project I've ever did. I guess becuase I didn't use a press and did everything the difficult way.

Damn, you're crazy. After about 30 minutes of bashing ---- with my BFH(Big ------- hammer)I just took the ---- down to the machine shop and paid the $20. Those ------- bushings are in there and if your car is as old as mine(89)they are in there good. :-\

I used a tie rod press which made the difficulty to the 100th power. It was on my 96 Integra back in like 99.

I'vedone bushings before without a press....and yes it is a bitch. What kit did you get? I heard you leave the "collar" in and just put the bushing in...is this true?

thats exactly what it did last week to my rear shocks when i changed my suspension. Oh ya and the bolt that goes through the rear shocks broke on both of them, so i had to grind my old shocks out. Its a bitch i say, a bitch...

How in Hells Bells did you guys do this w/o a press????
I bashed with a mallet/propane torch for a good hour and a half before I broke down and went to the local machine shop.

Anyways, it took me about 4-5 evenings worth of work to get them all in (I also replaced the front cross beam). The hardest part was muscling in the control arms, as the bushings make it VERY hard to wiggle stuff around. I think those damn drag links took me about 2 hours of pushing to fit the bolts in.

The kit isnt hard to put in, just really tedious as it requires a total dissassembly of the whole suspension setup. The kit removes all the extra slop, and that makes it really hard to put all back together.

However, this was well worth the effort, my CRX felt like a slot car, and it under exceleration their is 0 wheel hop, just spins the tires like the car weighed a couple tons.

A lot of people also say they make the car harsh to drive. They get all their info from crap ass car magazines that dont know a rats ass from their momma's ass. When I had it all together the suspension arms (w/o shocks) dropped all the way down to the limit of travel.....the bushings allowed the arms to move freely along the range of travel. This made the car suck up any bump I gave it.
