Arabs will control the 6 American ports if Bush gets his way.

Although the department of homeland security will still be in charge of the security of the port, I don't like this ---- at all. From what I hear we as Americans don't controll alot of our own ports, and that's a problem. Too many interests involved with ports shouldn't have anything to do with other countries, only our own.
It's possible that this issue adds no security threat to us at all, but it seems the majority of congress doesn't like it (on both sides) and Bush saying he'll veto any attempt to block the takeover should be in question.
We elect the president of course, but we also elect congress and it would seem that congress as a whole is the first group that has any voice for America aside from what the Presidents single handed agenda is, and if congress jointly wants to stop the takeover, it should be recognized that the people don't want it. With the President basically saying "---- you, I don't care what you want" seems like there is some hidden agenda with the whole thing.

Bush is merely telling the reps that they better be prepared to put their money where their mouths are.
If they want they can overturn the veto. If it is truely enough of a problem that it unifies the whole legislature.
They are agianst this because it looks bad on face alone. Arab company taking over ports. Sounds bad that way. But it is just another major business move that happens all the time in the world.

Even if 90% of America doesn't like it because of the Arab face involved, that's 90% and the government is for the people, by the people. That means it's a no go, unless the money, politics, hidden agendas, ect. control the country rather than the people. (which wouldn't be surprising)

there was an american oil company that china was going to buy.. but it met fierce opposition and they backed out of it..
how the ---- is this any different? where are the 90% figures from
if he goes ahead with the sale and 90% of the people dont want it that would be fucked up 
whitehouse just said he didnt even know about it untill yesterday..
i predict he hasnt gotten all the facts yet.. and once he does.. he wont go through with it.
