did it ask you to make a new profile? it does that to me every now and again, so i just made 2 profiles exactly the same and when it asks me to change to a different one i just switch em back and forth. mad gay

no. you go to " manage bookmarks " in your bookmarks tavb. then when that screen comes up, go to file, then go to export. there you have it. a simple html file with all your bookmarks.

That's happened to me a few times... Something about losing the profile or some ----?

I just started over and redid all of my bookmarks. I also started using a bookmark backup extension: http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/

If you go to start ---> run and enter the command:

firefox.exe -profilemanager

You can verify that it's not a profile issue (more than one) and see what profile is currently active. My firefox occasionally randomly changes/creates profiles on its own and I'll see the same symptoms as you describe.
