Build another motor or buy a nice car?
I'm having a tough time deciding what to do right now....
right now I have a s13 240sx with a stock ka24de + a turbo. I've spent a ton of time and money in the car. I've built a motor for it in the past but it ---- out in 150 miles because the water pump was bad and it overheated.
I've been thinking about building another motor for it. I'd be going for 400hp.
I've also really been wanting a c5 vette. I know they cost just a bit more than a built motor but I'm at a bit of a crossroads........
I'm trying to decide if I should sell the 240 and just start saving for the vette or if I should rebuild the 240, enjoy it, sell it, and then go for the vette. I'm mostly just worried about reliability issues and all that. I don't want to spend 3k+ on a new motor to have it ---- out on me and not be reliable at all.
How reliably can I get a built motor to 400hp? Should I just cut my losses with the 240 and move on or take a gamble with another motor?

Re: Build another motor or buy a nice car?
you guys have to remember that just cause you can buy a vette at a GM dealer its not a GM like any other car is, its made in its own factory there arent like cobalt parts right next to it. its a fully indepenant front and rear suspension, hydrofomed body with lots of trick engineering that goes into it. its light weight (relatively) handles great, will beon par performance wise with the average built import and do it with stock reliability. the c5+ vettes are great cars and as you get older you learn to appreciate reliability a little bit more. problem is they cost a good deal of money so i hope you know what your doing.
