Brett Favre

So,

I come in to work today w/ my white Brett Favre jersey on.. only to read the news.. and see this!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?cnn=yes

Now, as the greatest QB of all times.. Teams should be begging for him.. WTF?

BTW, I'm NOT a Packers fan.. I'm a fan of players, not teams.

Questions or comments on this Sichiation (that's situation for the northerners)

I'm so tired of hearing about that fucker and the ------- packer. I live 30 miles from GB so I hear this ---- all day being in packer country. Now with how the pack stands they should be like the 1980's packers and suck ass. Then see where all these fareweather fans stand. Man I never saw people wearing pack ---- or talking about them in the Lynn Dicky days of the eighties. Then they wasted their pick in 88 for Mandrich instead of picking Barry Sanders. Oh and then the Magic man Dan Mackowski, what a ------- douche. I was into football back in the 80's and early 90's then when Farve came on they started racking up some wins then...packers fans came out of the wood work. Fairweather fucks. Now Brewer fans are real fans. They suck ass and pretty much always have and people have always been behind them. Packers for being a wackass organization for wanting to pay the dude 20 mil just to shutup and sit back instead of trading the guy for decent people they actually need. Sorry about the venting but I hear this ---- all day.

i understand his situation, i played football in HS for 4years. i would give my left nut to put a set of pads on again, no other feeling in the world like running 30 yards downfield and devastating someone. >:D

he is going about it like a bitch though, i htink he should take it like a man and go for a front office position. it a lifetime job, and i am willing to bet he'd end up coaching eventually anyways which is the next best thing to playing the game yourself

Yes you clearly understant the situation because you played HS football. :1

To the OP. This has only been the top sports story for like a month now. Glad you woke up TODAY, to find all of this out. Ya seem like a real fan. lol.

Re: Brett Favre

heres what SHOULD happen but wont

the open qb competition should continue.....loser of farvera vs rodgers gets traded to help lower salary cap. they have two great rook qb's from the previous draft..........

i understand their situation...they have to plan for the future.....but you also have to worry about now....

who would you rather learn from....brett or aaron...i figure brett should give another two years playing time(pending injuries). by then one of the backups should be able to step up.....

for ---- sakes......brett was runner up mvp last year....he's proven.......what has aaron done so far...nothing..

all due respect to rodgers....he has handled this situation with class...

if the packers ---- this up(which they already have) and farvera goes somewhere else(which he will).....i now have an NFL team that i hate..

No, today was the update saying that he left practice yesterday, and is being considered for trade to the Bucs or the Vikings.

the only new news is the that he came back and is doing the whole practice thing. The idea of him being traded to the Bucs or Vikings is old news and has been part of the debate the entire time.

My opinion... he only has a few more seasons if he really stays. He's played the past how many with MY packers so he might as well just stick it out. Otherwise, just retire and become an ESPN analyst like aikman and everyone else. Or if he's really that bored back home start coaching high school or college ball or something. It would be a shame to see him play his last season or two with someone other than the Pack. He'll prob just end up getting hurt or something anyway if he keeps playing.

.. and yes, they are literally my packers because i own shares ;D

No, he is NOT practicing right now.

no ----... by whole practice thing i didn't mean actually practicing. I meant being back in GB with talks of open tryouts/trade/practice, ect...

Re: Brett Favre

Ok.... practicing means attending practice to me. If I fly to green bay and talk to someone I don't call it practicing.

Brett Favre should die. Now. I'm sick of hearing about him and his ancient self. His days are done, deal with it, nobody wants some old redneck they have to pay 343423423423 million dollars for.

Although I like Brett Favre, I'm sick of hearing this ---- too. He shouldn't have left in the first place unless he meant it, and if he gets traded he should really quit.

You have to remember though, in the 50's and 60's(especially) the Green Bay Packers were pretty much THE team to beat in professional football. All the Packer fans then had kids who are Packer fans now. Yeah, the 80's sucked for Green Bay, Tony Mandarich was probaly the biggest draft bust EVER, and with the exception of Sterling Sharpe(which he did play college ball at S. Carolina, where I grew up @)I can't think of one big name Packer player from that era(I've HEARD of Lynn Dicky, but never seen him play, that was before I can remember watchin' f''ball). Once there was something to cheer about again, all those fans just came back outta the woodwork.

---- it he has enough money he should just start his own team

Racintweek 08-08-2008 06:41 AM

Re: Brett Favre

i think he is making a big mistake, playing for any other team is going to make him look bad. the packers were built around him, the jets(or any other team really) isnt going to have the the right people in the rght places to let brett do what he does. not to mention he has to learn a new system and has already missed a good bit of practice, he has three weeks to learn a playbook, and perfect it if he even wants a chance at winning.

shitty manning my ass.....peyton would have cracked under pressure long ago if he was at new york....

he is on par with peyton talent wise...peyton has an edge on intelligence when it comes to football(all nighters studing game film)....eli has a great ability to play "in the moment"...which is why he is so good on the road and 2 minute warning...

eli is also a little bit(and i do mean a little bit) more mobile than peyton....ole water head peyton would have gone straight to the ground on the one play..
