Given the choice of that or a super big blown v8... I'm going 4-rotor. I don't care how many rebuilds it needs. That sound is bad as ----! http://www.xmfan.com/images/smiles/rock2.gif

Well, goddamn. That thing is the cat's ass.

In theory... me not being a Rotard and all... a multi-rotor engine based off of existing 12A or 13B parts would be as simple as approaching Eagle or the like to manufacture an eccentric (crank) shaft and bolt a couple housings together. IIRC there are no differences between housings and they just stack in place.

A 6 rotor 12A-based 3.8 liter engine wouldn't need a turbo to ---- some ---- up. Just run it rich as hell and be careful of overheating = success.

I wouldnt care to try. Rotaries are ------- easy as hell to work on. You can have the engine out in 30 min and rebuilt before lunch (assuming everythings ok). The incredible lack of thermal eff. combined with the ungodly high price of parts is the main reason I sold my street-port turbo FC.

Cool as ----.. but sounded like it needed some superior jd tuning.

hey hitchhiker, you must have access to a torque converter. half an hour sounds about right to get an fc or an fb engine out, but for damn sure not an fd. but without a torque converter, good luck tearing the motor down. thats the only way you can get the main shaft bolt off. i love me a rotory engine, but the price of everything is just too high. to build a multiple rotor engine is actually pretty easy providing that you can find a place that sells a main shaft that will work. after that its just like legos, you stack more rotors on it. and you would have to find a ignition system that would work. their igntion systems have to fire 3 times as fast as a normal motor, and adding more rotors isnt helping that. thats really the main reason you mostly only see 3 rotors setup ups now. i suppose megasquirt would work if you know how to properly use it. in theory you could have a rotors spin as high rpms as you work if you had a ignition and fuel system that coukd keep up with it. but they are amazing motors, and i love telling people my car doesnt even have pistons in it and is still quicker than theirs. lol.

If you have some of the rotors timed the same as others in the engine, you can cheat and share coil signals. Apples to orangutans comparison since I know ---- all about rotaries, but you wouldn't be able to set individual cyl corrections the way you need to anymore. Not a huge deal, just be conservative with fuel and timing which you're supposed to do with those anyway.

One inch drive air gun FTW.

The only thing an FD is good for is picking up ----- and losing to bikes in the corners. FC is the only true RX7.

You are my new favorite person :D

Turbo Turtle calling the impact gun a torque converter kinda threw me. :S

I wasn't implying online dating. It was more like an HMT meet... you know, everyone says they're going but never does?
