Default Brake Upgrades...

Well, my suspension is done, motor is ready to go in...But i've been warping rotors like it's nobody's business....
What are you guys running for front Brakes on your 88-91 Civic/Crx?? Are there any better/bigger, calipers/rotors etc that will work for a reasonable price, ie newer integra or something?? I saw a guy on ebay selling a "Big brake kit" for our cars and he mentioned something about 94+ teg front brakes....Do i have any options other than a Bear big brake kit or something?

Warping rotors? You probably have other issues too. What type of driving are you doing with the car? street/daily, autocross, open track events? You should be fine with stock rotors combined with pads that are designed for the type of driving you do. A pretty good street and autocross pad is the Axxis Ultimate, which you can get in the 273 profile for your car (same as mine). Make sure you change rotors when you go to a different pad also, because pads leave a residue imbedded into the rotor, and can chatter/vibrate if you simply switch pads.

I run the stock system road racing with race pads, and have yet to warp a rotor, but I have lit brakes on fire so what do I know?

Allow me to clarify I was speaking of 4th gen civic ex nuckles.. They are 10.4" disks and will except all the after market performance brake systems designed for the integra.. which are not widely available in the crx..

That is what Jeff is recommending we do on my car, which sounds like a pretty good way to go also, just a few more parts required.
