Brake Problem
Hey ppl, need some trouble shooting help. I have noticed that when i am braking at a stand still on a hill at a intersection or whatever, that my brake pedel slowly travels to the floor. I'm thinking it may be my master cylinder leaking internally because i am not loosing any brake fluid?? Or could it be the brake booster, prop valve?? hmmm... I have recently replaced my front disk brakes with powerstop crossdrilled roters, and hawk brake pads. Anyway, it doesn't always do this, most times the brakes feel ok, and other times the pedel really sinks to the floor when i keep my foot on it, without pumping it a little. But my brake travel/feel sucks too...i'm sure this is the case with all 2 gen, 4th gen crx/civics....

Re:Brake Problem
I dont own a honda but it sounds like you just might have some air in the brake lines. Have you tried bleeding them? That would be my first step since well its free
It sounds like the problem to me, then again how often am I right lol

Re:Brake Problem
I had the same problem... it would sometimes sink to the floor when i braked(it was more lik 85% of the time.) I had to drive it from georga to Michigan that way(i only made it thanks to engine braking and the good all handbrake). anyways, what i relized was that there seemed to be paint pealing around the power booster(there was no loss of fluid in the resivour, but, there must have been some fluid on there because it is very corrosive and would eat the paint away). I figured it was the master cylinder, so i bought a new one and bench bleed it and put it on. The instructions told me to get a new power brake booster if there was any fluid on or in it, but i didn't. Well, anyways, that was the problem. It works great now, and i did not even bleed the brakes. So... sorry about this fucked-up reply, i had a long, long day, i hope this was helpful in some way.
