they were pretty quick up until the last major redesign (when they came out with the WRX in the US). They were between 2700 and 2800 lbs. now they're between 3100 and 3200 :P supposedly much much stiffer though. damn that's a big weight penalty.

Yeah the guy that i bought the car from is an auto dealer and i have bill of sale and plates and all that ----, so he told me that the dude that owned the car before paid it all off and i guess at the time the car got jecked he didn't have insurance or maybe he didn't have a full coverage or some ----... but if there is something fishy i could always come after the dealer dude... and then i'll realy ---- him up

And yeah i sold my hatch for $5700 added $500 and ended up with the WRX...

that sucks *** man. i saw a post on another site from a guy that rolled his 03 f-250 and he didn't have insurance on it at the time because he was in between jobs, he had pics and i really felt for the 30k that he has to pay out of his pocket. but by the pics, if i was to roll a vehicle, that would be it, the driver area was untouched, rest of the truck = scrap metal.

I dont know about the wrx but i know the sti aren't slow even with the weight. It hurts them a little but there pretty quick once you get use to it. Driving a sti is not like driving a honda

i do have a video of my bro on his dyno jet at the subaru dealership. kinda kool that a subie dealerrship has a dynojet and a tuner. cool beans. we ended up making like 250 hp at the wheels. well we have a full turbo back exhaust.and an intercooler with a 255 wlboro fuel pump. with a sbc id and power meter id and acf2. thats it. we went in there with 180 at the wheels ( 165 is stock i believe atw/?) and left with about 250 at the wheels. kinda beautiful.
