http://autotrader.com/research/model...&yearList=1989

1989 Pontiac Grand Am SE Turbo
2.0L Turbocharged 165 hp gas Standard

Number of cylinders: 4

Number of valves: 8

Compression Ratio: 8

Camshaft: Single overhead cam (SOHC)

Horsepower: 165 hp @ 5600 rpm

Torque: 175 ft-lbs @ 4000 rpm

Fuel Economy (City/Hwy): 21/28

I guess a turbo Grand Am did exist. The sunbird used the same engine too.

I know, I was just pointing out that there was one built years back.
2.0l, makes me wonder why doesn't GM do a little more research and build decent 4 bangers.
But then again I probably would never buy them either, so who cares.

Just seems like the American companies just make the cars "good enough" to sell, then focus on only on name to promote. Then they wonder why they are all bankrupt.
Dodge has been focusing more on all their line of cars, even if they all have the same chassis/engine/and sort of the same look.

yah, Dodge has coem a long way with the SRT4, they haul......actually thinking back i always enjoyed even the early turbo dodge's. They were quick and easy as well.....The ford and chev camp need to get their ---- together with small cars, the ion and the cobalt's and focuses just dont get the job done, to big, too heavy, and most likely unreliable, i was never a honda fan till i owned one, my poor car has 280k on it, it gets pounded daily, and never ever costs me dime one.........

They have a nice Focus on the other side of the world. We get the shitty one here. You would think it would be the other way around. They think it might cut into their other sales, like the Mustang. But I think mustang buyers are not Focus buyers, no matter how fast they could be.
With GM, I don't have a clue. The Ecotec seems to be a decent engine, the drag car seems to be holding up pretty good, I know there's tens of thousands in those cars, but still they are based on the same engine design.

What was the original topic again
