The nearest place by Moreno Vally is Riverside
,and San Bernardino .All the cholos,eses,baldheaded ***** from L.A are moving there.All of Cali is just going down the tube really,really,quick.I want no more part of it.I was just talking to my friend who lives in Corinth(the burbs) and he says people actually wave at you as you drive by there houses even if they dont know you.Here in Cali. you drive through a different neighborhood and people think your gonna do a drive by :P.

I live in Houston as well. North North North Houston, but I've been to Dallas several times, downtown looks awesome @ Night. Most of the Neighborhoods i drove through had colored rock roads rather than concrete, so it looks upscale. What I like the most is their weather. Not humid like houston, and it even snows there (though minimally) from time to time. I personally haven't even seen snow.
From what I know (which isn't much) Dallas is anywhere from 2hrs 45min - 4hrs depending on how big of a ******* you have. But I haven't been there in a while. In my line of business, a speeding ticket could cause me to not get a job if i were to move, so it would take me over 3.5hrs.

Thats what I hear about the weather there.I can deal with the worm weather but living here cold to me is 60*.Its going to be a shock living where it gets down to 20 in the winter.
Its official.Were driving there next weekend for a week long of house hunting.My house goes up for sale as soon as we get back if we find something both my wife and I agree on.Ill take lots of picts on the road.It should be fun going on a 20hour road trip with a 3 year old son

If you need a baby sitter (for the car) let me know. You could leave it at the dealership for free (in employee parking) here in Spring, TX most people consider Spring to be North Houston, well I do. It's right off of I-45, which is THE highway around here. The Bush Intercontinental Airport is 20 minutes from here.
If I were you, I'd put my money on finding something that you really really like up ther in Dallas. Actually you'll probably find a few houses/neighborhoods you love. They have an Outdoor World up there that I went to when it opened, yeah i know... off topic but w/e.
The winters there aren't harsh by any means. A shirt w/a heavy jacket is ample. But some people get by w/multiple shirts and a sweater. It's easier to get used to than you think. Oh, and by the way... when you first enter Texas, don't begin getting your things situated in the car... you'll still have half a day of driving!

California has gotten out of control. I'm wondering who the hell is buying these houses though. My childhood home in Vacaville in the North bay area just sold for 475k for a typical family home plus the house is 25 years old. Dont blame you for leaving. I miss California alot though since I moved.
