I think he went the right route. DOHC 1.6 > SOHC 1.4 hands down.

Nice project and welcome to the site :)

I thought that too, I'm assuming they did pulls through every gear? Hence the speed at the bottom?

done this at college when i first put it together, they got an emissions tester that'll moniter afr but was broken so couldnt tune it, thier dyno wasnt best equip, bein a college ::), the rpm pickup was broke so couldnt use that but the test was in 4th gear
so the problem is not having a good tune :o :-X, i know this isnt good, and this is my first go, but i'm learning.
although i am waiting for a cheque to clear so i can buy a wideband from xenocron, then i can give it a better tune and get it back on the rollers

You have a clean induction set-up and a mad ghetto valve cover, I think you'll fit in nicley here.

What's with your JDM power curve, it looks like the v-tacky pic that Walter drew. lol

best time was a 14.3 @102. still had full interior as well as a ---- load of bottles, towing bar and loads of other stuff. still rockin the stock clutch too, that doesnt like to be slipped at all so had to take it easy off the line so i could still drive it home :l, this is on street tyres also

have my front tyre pressures at about 25psi, it doesnt spin up that much, when the roads are damp i dont have a chance grabbing traction in 3rd, tbh i dont beat on it much cos i need to set the safc, once the wbo2 gets here it will be getting beat

herman 10-18-2007 07:42 PM

Re: boosted uk d

so i got a wideband last week, installed with no probs. got the o-meter too so i can street tune the thing.

my settings from the afc when it was on the dyno.
lo 98, hi 99. hi/lo settings were the same throughout
1-3.5k -40
4k -37
4.5-8k -35
also had fuel pressure at around 42psi. had to adjust tps so it didnt kinda hunt on idle, idle kept dropping down to about 450rpm then up to about 1200

since the wideband got here i have sorted the afc finally. the afr on idle was about 17:1

street tuned afc settings,
lo 10,
1k -32
2k -41
3k -42
4k -42
5k -35
6k -35
7k -35
8k -35
hi 50
1k -44
2k -48
3k -46
4k -38
5k -33
6k -33
7k -31
8k -31

i now have idle afr of 13.6-15:1. set the tps and removed the adjustable fpr in favour of the stock fpr, now idles petty smooth.
at wot i got 11.9:1 afr from about 3k up to about 6k, then the boost creeps >:(
i was having a boost creep problem a little while after i changed the head gasket, so i took out the mbc so i was runnin off wg spring pressure, its a yellow spring, this is 3.6psi right?
so i had about 4psi till about 6k then creeps to around 10-12psi.i changed the feed to the wg from the plenum to the compressor housing. still creeps around 6000rpm. checked the diaphragm in the wg, it looks fine.

gotta see if i can get some dyno time, sure that curve will look a bit a bit less like walters now lol O0
