That's awesome.. It looks like it turned out great. I can't wait to hear how it works.

Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Maybe I missed the whole introduction thing, but I'm interested to find out (in english) what this might be comparable to (boost controller on the market wise), how much it'll be, and how hard it's going to be to incorporate into any other parts of the car (ecu, ect?)
Everytime someone puts something together in a black box I think I'm going to have to research it for months to figure out how to use it. lol. (much like the first time we heard of a rom editor) :D |

I belive you know hackish, he mentioned placing the controller inside a honda ecu, I did a quick check and it fits. so that could be a real sleeper. If someone wanted that I would cut them a discount because they dont need need the knobs or case which is probably around a 10 dollar savings. The reason the pcb is stretched out is so that it fits the enclosure. The actual pcb could have around 2.4 by 3 or smaller if the serial port and the map sensors are not side by side. the actually pcb is 2.4 by 4.7 so you can see if it will fit in the area. Nick |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
thats nice. but you couldnt get it any smaller? sorry im bitching, you did a good job. i applaud you.

Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Is this going to come all assembled or are you going to do them in kit form? No offense, but I'd rather solder everything myself if possible.

Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
what are the dimensions of the box?
|
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
5.25 x 3.3 x 1.25 are the enclosure size

(much like the first time we heard of a rom editor) :D Now the smaller foot print to do something really stealth can be done, but I must have interest. I would need atleast 4 orders and the price for that as a kit would probably be around 180 and prebuilt would be 190 (with HTM discount) It wouldnt come in a case or have knobs. It can only be adjusted via a serial port. This would be for the advanced users, I wouldnt recommend a newbie to get there hands on this. I'm setting up support forum for the hardware so people can share thier configuration files and talk about tuning. It will be located at forum.tullostech.com Nick |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
A closed loop boost controller is like everything I ever wanted. haha.
My old Profec had two settings, but with the temp/boost changes they were usually labeled "day and night" rather than "low and high". So this will actually target a specified boost pressure during the daytime, nighttime, and on Christmas day??? I'm gonna have to look into this. |

Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Oh damn, I want one.
Next question, how hard is it going to be to "tune" ? |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Damn, looks good man.
So, this thing can be set via a serial port AND some spiffy knobs? I would be interested in a smaller unit if I could do everything via the serial port. |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Thats pretty badass.
I always wondered how people ran low and high boost setups, do they just tune for the max amount of boost they're going to run and then run less? Or is there something I'm missing. |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
i cant wait to buy one.

Next question, how hard is it going to be to "tune" ? in overboost control there are two options, dynamic control or static control. dynamic control will allow you to set the amount of psi over your current goal psi. So you can set your overboost to 2 psi and your goal 15psi then your car will shut down boost if it boost reachest 17psi. Now with static psi you can set it to the exact psi you want. So for static overboost psi will be same for both high and low boost. With those two ideas you can create a really good tune without doing much work at all. Now the advanced options are a little more difficult to understand, but will be documented in the manual. Does that sound easy? Way into the future, maybe winter, I plan on creating software that will run on your laptop and tune the boost controller automatically. But since its so easy to tune right now, i'm not going to write it right now. Nick |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Damn Nick, your not as dumb as I thought you was. Good job dude. I might have to start being nicer to you now.... But I most likely wont. :D

Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Now the fun stuff. find a way to get dual boost to auto switch with a selected gear say 3rd gear? Low boost through 1-2, 3rd gear BAM she goes to the high boost setting. Now I would be all over this thing :P

Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
Ya know. I always mumbled to myself of how SMART everyone on here really is. We have this, I saw water cooler for the IC, Twins on a 5.0, just the shear ability to make turboing my Civic easy. Thanks guys.
Great job, just wish I had that cash around. I need a clutch instead. Maybe later. Thanks for the discount, too. JP |
Re: Boost Controller Software screen shots and some pictures of the case
so is this the box? like the brain? is there going to be a display or is this just for super secret stealth style? and what about the solenoid? is that produced yet? if this is available for a good price im sellin my profec b spec 2, i really want somethin that has diff boost settings per gear, since my Z breaks traction so easy.
