im currently thinking about re-painting my 90 hatch from blue to championship white. i want to do the bodywork and do it the right way and even paint the inside(i have no interior) and door jams and window jams...and everything(so the car looks stock white). how did you get your windows out? did you pay someone to come to your house and take them out?

Re:Body work love * pics *

oh and where can i get the primer? i heard its not too good to roll around with your car primered for too long cause the primer attracts water and causes rust...do you know if i could jsut use the krylon primer-in-a-can at kragens? or would i have to go to a bodyshop?

Re:Body work love * pics *

i didn't take my windows out

i just took the pads or whatever the hell they are called off and put news paper over them

but if you get a haynes manual it will outline how to remove windows. it isn't that hard just take the tracks off and you slide them out the top, i'll be remvoing them soon to have tehm tinted

---- rattle can primer. get a real paint gun (gravity feed) and some real primer. and yeah...primer is bad to roll around with i just put my car outside to take the pictures otherwise it chills in my garage.

you can get primer at napa. the part number for the cheapy ---- is like 15221 or something i'll double check in a while. what you can do though is primer the car, sand that down, then put a sealer over it and you can roll like that for a while...but i would still suggest against it , just go out and buy all of the products at once and you'll be fine( primer, sealer, base, clear) and all of the sand papers / long boards / sanders / masks / laq thinner / etc

expect to drop a few hundred for everything. any other questions just ask and i can help

good job on the body work man. does the primer spray (if done the right way with a HVLP) smooth so i dont have to sand before i apply the base coat?

damn bro nice work....i still have the bondo stuck on my driveway from trying to shave my mouldings on my first CRX

Re:Body work love * pics *

it depends on how thick/thin you make it....that is all that it really depends on

my 3rd coat i thinned it out a lot and it sprayed so nice that i didn't even touch it w/ a sander
