I thought mythbusters was testing the windshields not the engines.

Try throwing a small pidgeon into your turbo and see how it likes it. Geese are decent sized birds, not good for fast moving parts.

They did the high speed frozen turkeys through the windsheild and an explosive decompression test with a bullet through a fuselage window.

It doesn't take much to destroy a high-speed rotary assembly that's turning at 50K rpm.
