how do i change my bios settings on my computer? i have my chip burner at work and it's not recognizing it, i think the bios settings aren't right. parrallel print port needs to be set on EPP, and lpt port needs to be on ECP or ECP +EPP

 

usualy its pressing delete or F1 as the computer posts. (Power On Self Test) HIt it before the beep telling you that it posted corectly.
should be in there for most systems.

 

there might be a splash screen or whatever the ---- it is called hit esc and then f1 or f12 or del

 

The parallel port and LPT are the same thing. Like turbo and hairdryer.

What kinda puter is it?

Those port settings can also be changed within windows, in the device manager, if that's the OS you're using.

 

------- hp workstation w/ pentium 4, that's all i know i'm about to shut down and see if i can open the bios settings.

 

^^ kevin when the computer turns on and counts the memory look for a bold word. it should tell u what to press to get into the bios.

if you are unsure what it's set at now u can see inside from windows via control panel > system

 

i hit f12 when it had the bold type and it just took me to some mumbo jumbo page :P i'm stupid with puters

 

If its an HP Try the TAB key at the HP Splash screen (Also if that doesn't work, its gonna be eitehr F1 or DEL)

 

break out ur manual if HP is cool they tell you how to get into bios
if you dont have the manual you can usually download it
