Bikes

Just got a 98 ZX6R. Got a really good deal on it, so I jumped at the opportunity. Any opinions on upgrades/gear/sites? Want to make an attempt at not killing myself, so I'm gonna stick to residential streets/non-highways for a week or 2.

Thinking either Arai or Shoei for a noggin guard. And pics/vids, I'm going to go buy a damn camera, and tape my life for HMT since people keep demanding pics/vids. Anyone got one for sale? I promise porn vids and naked girls will be the first use of it...

Get a good lid for starters, i wouldnt wear anything less than an arai or shoei. You cant really put a price on your head! Oh, and get leathers, 1 or 2 piece suit prefferably armoured where it counts. Good gloves and boots are just as important as the suit. However, If you like the idea of skin grafts and broken bones then wear sneakers jeans and a coat.

Good luck

So tempting to just blow a tax refund on a bike down payment.....

My hero.

I think i need one of these. Hell, everyone else in town that's a speed junkie that's too poor to afford a fast car has a gixxer, busa, or cbr with a long ass swingarm and the loudest ----------ing exhaust you've ever heard. I want to get into it. Maybe i should.

well you don't ONLY have the option to get your arai or Shoei. you can get a different brand that suits your price too. but to be fair you can tell a cheap helmet from a good one. the make and fitment really does show. i have an Icon helmet and that particular brand has saved my head from a very bad concussion on one occasion.

sure it's not a tier 1 name brand helmet. but it exceeds all of the Dot requirements BY ALOT and it fits feels good on my head. it's well constructed good ventilation. keeps air pressure away from my face and it hold my head snug.

but find something in good quality. don't buy crap.

Straight line that bike would acceleration as a fast Eg with a linear 300WHP Powerband. so yea you'll definitely get in trouble.

most old school mid-late 90's 600' Street bikes averagely performed deep 11's with Heavy steel frames and Carburated side drafts. You can only imagine what an improved aluminum frame, Fuel injected and better built engine can do today.

almost all the new 600's can do high 10's out the box today.

Re: Bikes

The G-model is the same as the F-model except for the body work and it has K-TRIC. The exhaust systems weigh in at like 48lbs. Drop that and go with a light-weight Muzzy's (19lbs) jet the carbs and get a K+N filter.

A GT2542RS would be a nice addition too.

It's got a Vance and Hines exhaust, jetted carbs, don't know bout the filter. Got some aftermarket ignition shizzle on it too. Thanks for helping me with the battery ---- nog

yep, any snell approved helmet is going to protect you the same. the more expensive helmets are just more comfortable, better quality, lighter, better airflow, etc.

1) There is no such thing as a GSXR650

2) Bikes will scare some sense into you. You are not going to hop on one and ride hard without some survival instinct kicking in.

3) Bikes are ----- magnets EVERYWHERE, in every city, county, state, country. Not just your town.

4) Please die in an industrial accident. ^-^
