BFG G-Force Drag Radials + Rain. Experiences?

I'm due for some tires and am thinking about the g-force t/a drag radials. Yes for my daily driver. I know they wont last long but money is not an issue. I will replace them every 4-6 months if they work well. My concern is how bad are they in wet weather? My Azenis plain suck ass but I am used to them. If they are close thats fine but if they are 10x worse I may consider something else. Anything to help with the traction loss on a dry road. Anyone? Experiences?

they arent that bad, if the DOT says they are approved for street use its safe to say they are good enough. you just have to be a little catious when its wet.

Thats pretty much a givin. 300hp is a bitch in the rain with a slick tire. I've had my share of very light 40mph throttle skidding heh. Car wont turn for ----! I'm sort of leaning towards the KDW series as it does rain a shitload here this time of year.

last time i looked at them, the description under them said: "not intended for street use" ::)

If you have all the power to need slicks all the time and your cought off guard by a vw that wants to race just learn how to controle your car, if u have so much power you can affor to lose a little bit of traction off the line and beat his ass in second 3rd 4th 5th and Reverse

i ran them a few years back every day...including in the snow. it was...interesting. Just be prepared to be the one in the slow lane getting passed anytime its shitty out.

You know my post count is rapidly decreasing around here. HMT is getting gayer by the day with sarcastic remarks and posts. Time to rip off the sticker I suppose, I wouldnt want to send someone here just to get flamed. Thanks to those with logical and usefull comments and ---- off to those others. You know who you are. I have a set of slicks that I run but I am looking for more traction during everyday use. Changing tires all the time becomes a PITA not to mention the studs I have had to replace. I probably have more track time than 90% of you buttnuts. I also do know how to control my car but feathering the throttle at 70 gets old. All I was looking for was some experience running these ------- tires. I'll just go with a $500 boost controller no?

Thanks once again HMT <---sarcasm

Re: BFG G-Force Drag Radials + Rain. Experiences?

buying dot slicks is like buying all season tires.

dot slicks/radials whatever dont give u full advantage on the track.. or on the road/wet conditions

all season tires dont give u full advantage at the road or in the winter.. now if u had a set of slicks.. and dd tires..

just like you buy a set of winter tires and touring tires ud be much better off...

changing tires and it being a PITA vs a NASTY car accident cause u were too lazy to change rims?

if its thats much of a PITA and u get as much track time as ur bragging about getting why dont u just pick up a winter beating?

Wife says I dont need one hah! Trust me I have tried many times. I also live in FL where winter/summer cars/tires dont mean ----. The Honda is sort of my toy car but its also the DD. I have a 70 nova I'm building for the track and the track racing will probably stop on the Civic once thats completed. I just sold my 79 Camino so a beater is looking more possible. I am guilty of the occasional street race and just looking for some more traction thats all. Going to go with the KDW's I'll let you guys know how they work out. These Azenis are not cracked up to be what people say they are. 2 thumbs down from me. JUNK!

my bfg drag radials worked great in the rain surprisingly, I also kinda drive like a grandma most of the time.

ahh yes, bfg DR's....great for 2.0 60ft's but a lil rough on the road...

it rains alot here in oregon too, but it wasn't all that bad driving on them. i just expected them to spin in throttle on the straights and made sure to be out of the throttle in corners and they weren't too bad.

Re: BFG G-Force Drag Radials + Rain. Experiences?

personally for dialydriving i would get a set of pirellie p-zeros and for dragging i would get some 15's with full drag slicks, since money is no object.

Re: BFG G-Force Drag Radials + Rain. Experiences?

the bfg radials suprisingly werent that bad in the rain. just expect to be doing the speed limit and not driving crazy.

i also have the kdw's as far as dry traction goes they dont even spin much if at all in 2nd gear (318whp) and were good in the rain. im very happy wiht the kdw's

Had Pirellis and they werent that good. Already have/had 22x8x13" M&H slicks that I just sold and am going with a 24.5" for the track. Also going to go with the KDW 2's http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=3

Thanks /end /close thread :)
