no way, the supra is the import supercar, nothing can hang with the supra, stock forged internals taking up to 1000hp and bolting up to gm powerglide tranny's? can 300zx's say that, supra wins, the supra is in a class of its own, although they do cost a lot, oh yeah and you cannot get a NA supra and just put a tt on it, you have to do a shitload of work with the wiring and the feul management, a few of my friends have supras (those bastards) and i was telling him he could do that if it was cheaper and thats what he told me... Damn this turbo d series, cant hang with him at all...

I actually like both cars. I guy i know across the street is selling his 300zx. But if i could pick it would be the supra you could make more power out of that car and i know i would have more fun with it. Plus its a supra. But money wise 300zx would be cheaper in the area im in. It just all depends on what you want and can afford. Just weight the negative and positive of the two

the tranny will bolt to a TH350 tranny?
supras can make 1000hp on stock internals... all the power is 500rpms away from redline so its pretty much useless (little exageration)

really I think it depends on your use of the car. both seems capable. I'd only drive a 300zx on the street/track; the supra would be a weekend racer/sunday cruiser. 300zx's have a sexy rear suspension also; you want top speed? handling capabilities at x speed? flat out acceleration? Incredible feedback? A tingling in your ***** when your car responds to your every whim and desire like some wanton nymph? .....yeah, so do I...hehe...
