best sounding alarm chirp?
ok i was bored as hell today and decided to see why my car alarm chirp was so quiet. ended up haveing to just cut the black wire that loops into the siren and now its loud. i don't like the way the chirp sounds (reguler DEI siren). i have heard some alarms that have a nice sounding chirp, then even heard a few stock bmw chirps that sound cool. anybody know where i can find some sound clips of different sounds of them?
here are some that i have found already http://www.jakesjokes.com/gallery/al...g_caralarm.wav http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLxXS...eature=related so what one have you heard that you think sounds good and where the hell can i get a differant siren to change this ----. the stock viper one sounds liek everybody elses around here. |
Re: best sounding alarm chirp?
Your kidding right? The best alarms don't have sirens or sounds. Your neighbors don't care to look out for your ----, and other than that you're just giving the thief a time limit.

A big boom would be the best... like an alarm that triggers an explosive or series of explosives. Nothing else would get my attention.

Re: best sounding alarm chirp?
I was sittin at teh light the other day windows down and I was thinking of something creative to scream at teh Baseball field full of people when all of a sudden i heard a fuckign trainhorn blast from this Expedition in front of me and like 80 people on the field and i the stands went "ahhh" and jumped like 3 foot all at teh same time.
I puddled and just about ran the car up on the curb laughing. I had to pull over and collect myself. Now this brings me to my next question. How on earth can i obtain such a device? |
Re: best sounding alarm chirp?
The sound of breaking glass might get your attention, Or better yet, the sound of your own exhaust.
|
Re: best sounding alarm chirp?
theres a new one that just sounds like someone frantically honking the horn. That one pisses me off since the more people use it the less likely people are to pay any attention to that sound.
and yea the sound of your own engine revving would be awesome. That would wake you up quick. Failing that your neighbors would come out to kick your ass for reving your engine at 2am only to realize its not you in the car and holy hell someone is stealing your car. |

Anyways I think ill do a right up on home made air horns. Problem im running into now is, when the alarm is on it sends a 12v constant to the siren and if I tap into that my horns will just blast until the alarm turns off. I think i might have to get a stock alarm that uses the factory horn. I want the pulsing action. >:D |
Re: best sounding alarm chirp?
wonder how hard it would be to stick a relay in there to switch the current on and off ever 2 sec or whatever. idk

Re: best sounding alarm chirp?
