you got to pay hosting fee's to keep ur site up. but how long the name stays with u depends on what package u select.

I have 1 hosted with yahoo domains
I have 2 at godaddy

godaddy is better. yahoo is cheaper. both work

i use ehost.net for hosting. only like 10 bux a year and surprisingly good

The only thing I've ever done is look on networksolutions.com to see if something is available, and then I tell Cray to get it for me and put something on it. lol. I don't know what he uses, but it's like $45 a year for each site.

The layout of Stealthmode was made by "Shawn" who used to frequent this site. Since then, Cray has taken over on the update tip. For paintmode we just used the Stealthmode layout and changed the text. If you wanna run the same layout, just PM Cray and have him send it to you. (however the ---- that works)

ehosts bandwidth and storage space is huge. dont worry about the space..any of their plans will work

MySQL is a database. odds are if you are going to have an online store/forum you will need one mysql database for each

If i remember correctly, ehost doesnt like it when u host videos and have a bunch of downloaders for them. If you plan on hosting many videos, ehost is not for you, so you may wanna email them in advance.

Nice, thanks. I plan on having a few videos but nothing crazy. I mainly am just going to have alot of pictures. I don't plan on having an online store and my website forum will be a link to homemadeturbo. ;)

It's still registered to Shawn B----- in PA. I have his home phone number and home address and email addy etc.
Be careful how and where you register your site because you can leave a lot of info out there for people to see.

I'm not sure how Shawn's name is still attached, but I've paid for the renewal at least once since Cray took over. And the passwords have all been changed.

Do not go 1and1...they are one of the worst hosting companies around. they have a very nice faade but once u are a member its horrible. I almost signed up once but luckily i did some research.

Go Daddy is the easiest and pretty cheap my domain was like $16 for 2 years and my site is like $9.95 a month. I don't really use the site accept to show examples of my work, but for $10 a month its worth it.

I have 3 domains through namesarecheap.com I paid in 5year contracts and the price was around 9 bucks a yr, but looks like their prices have gone up. Hosting I use Godaddy, just never go over on bandwith they will rape your nig ass hard. I didnt watch the month of jan and we went over by 120gigs and they billed me for 560 dollars, stupid mistake >:(

Thread back from the dead but how the ---- can I avoid something like this happening to me? Thats why I'm so hesitant about buying domain names or giving hosting companies my credit card number..
